I got an onboard SSD now. I was hoping to keep the other SSD as a workspace because I don't really like making projects on my C-Drive. The other two hard drives I have are old fashioned ones. On my lunch break. I originally had the risuner magic be pepega plant growth but if I retcon that with the nitrate soil.... Then wtf does the magic/chuubanite do? I will repeat this also. Risu is a chaotic chuuba (which i would say is destructive magic), much like Pomu. I think her chuubanite should reflect that personally. You already have the fireballs and bombs, it works just fine.

I did not have "nation of potheads" on my list of future risu possibilities.

I want to draw a picture later. I have sort of a neat idea that I think would be faster than putting to words.

Vitubian Nebula proposal for CVT40k. It's about 40 light-years long with about 800 systems. The cluster near its core has about 100 systems. I think that bit of the nebula to the right could make for a nice "wild west" area of the sector. Thoughts?

With SpaceEngine! Amazing program. I'd recommend anyone to buy or pirate it and just fly around a bit. Started with a nice looking procedurally generated nebula, and then used an in-program editor to modify its shape and color to something I thought looked decent. Wasn't too complicated.

Depends on the origin of the characters. Any names that are thematic to any Holo EN splits would do too. But the Hooman language is based on Russian. Just use any Eastern European names but avoid things that are related to actual myths/ Earth figures. Scramble the vowels and consonants a bit with those of the Hooman language if you want it to be more accurate in universe.

I never name my characters, but so far I've mostly given them british and russian names, with a little bit of french here and there, I haven't bothered in wrangling the conlang for it.
I haven't written it down, but the main naming system in the republic would be that of occupation, last names like Hunter, Butcher, Lumber, stuffs like that.

I don’t know if it’s been decided yet but I’ve been doing my reps on how to make /vnug/ still heavily forested even if it got changed into a tundra. Aspen trees are able to spread further north than many other trees as clonal colonies and thus bypass the temperature requirement for seed germination so maybe that’s how most trees in /vnug/ are (although I can’t find a lot of information on how trees evolve to be clonal)
Another tundra adaptation’s making the roots shallow and widespread but that also leads to the trees being shorter (like shrubs) and that doesn’t really fit with what I’ve envisioned so I don’t know if that’s the approach I’ll be using. One idea I have is that since we know dreamworts can break through soil pan and a bit of permafrost through chuubanite, maybe once dreamwort colonizes part of the tundra, it’ll be able to make the soil go deeper than usual tundra and thus allow trees to grow larger than otherwise? Trees might also be able to absorb residues from dreamwort to make their roots more resistant against winter frost

Had a little thought about this but I think the traditional surnames/middle names would've shifted from occupation to maybe placenames as the different parts got unified. So probably something like [Given name]-[Family name]-[Identifier]. Of which family name is either derived from old occupation surnames or some kind of clan name for previously unsettled nomadic people. Identifier is last since I want it to be wacky.

Yep that's right, I'm still thinking about what would be the best way to organize this list of systems and planets. Sheet autism makes me want to just make a google sheet with star type, coordinates, planet type, short description, this kinda stuff, would be easier to maintain and work with than a rentry. I'll mess around with different ways to organize it. What would be the important factoid to know about a system/planet at a glance?
Also, yeah a list like that would be great! It's kind of what the Illustrative Examples section tries to do, but it really needs more examples.

The asshole risuner here. I noticed that there was discussion about our chuubanite again. Is OG here? Even if he isn't, I would like to talk about my thoughts.

1.) Risu as a Chuuba.
Risu as a chuuba is very talented, and can be an excellent entertaining streamer when she wants. However, Risu is lazy and unmotivated often to live up to her potential. When she is on her game, she is one of the best singers and streamers in all of Hololive. The thing is that is few and far between, getting worse in time.

She also likes to play into both chaos and destructiveness sometimes. Her spirit is mischevious I would say.

2.) Chuubanite ideas
I got chewed out for being negative last time, and called lazy but idc, I think i get this better this time.

When i went over our lore over and over, the destructive element that should be associated with Risu Chuubanite is there more than the other effects listed in the Gem rentry. I think what ideas we can use are:

>passive effects being shown in how backwards we are, how disorganized our society is, etc.

While our thread is xenophobic, really it is a little overstated as I think most threads don't like asshats that come in to start shit.

If we did have plant growth, it would probably be tied to Ayunda which is an alternate personality of Risu that can be called her "yandere" or evil side. This would probably manifest itself like these posts say to a degree with a caveat i will mention:

The caveat is that i think that it would mostly be a negative effect because of Ayunda's nature being somewhat wicked. There would probably be some nasty diseases, dangerous wildlife, and just nuisances of plants that ruin productivity. I think its funny that so many foreigners would want to invest into this, but I think that aspect shows how much potential Risu herself has that everyone believes she can do well, which applies to the nation.

I don't agree with the passive effect applying laziness to foreigners, but rather that Risu itself will be a money pit for all of these foreigners, and that they will find the landscape rather worthless and harsh. I know OG does not like it, but I think the slavery factor and war factor would be good at showing how dead our thread is right now and how many Risuners lost faith in Risu. That sort of goes against what is being done, but I think it makes a lot of sense that Risuners would screw over other risuners, as Risu herself is self-destructive. /risu/ in world's greatest enemy and villain is itself probably, just like Risu.

I can think of a few for the Candy Kingdom and some Luna concepts. I kind of imagine the Candy Kingdom as a world that has a ring around it that's made up of hundreds of space debris but contains dozens of moons that luknights conquer and are still conquering as they explore space. There could be multiple Hime Vessels to rule colony worlds distant from the main planet (Himedominatus, Himemoris, something like that) and slightly different cultures that could arise due to it. One idea I have is that Bunaitos are a conquered species that have adoped lunaito ways and are considered kind of like second class citizens but are still dutiful and make for good cheap labour without being slaves.
Tech wise, we'd adopt power weapons and guns but have created armors and shields capable of taking most basic light/laser based weaponry in stride and even shelled weapons as well. Not invulnerable but very resistant and the shields might just stand a good few armor penetrating rounds, also, melee is based so we'd invest alot into getting swords and melee weapons that can beat the shit out of our enemies.
There's more I can go into but I'm interested in any other spacey ideas, also struggling to come up with a good lot of spacey names for the spacey concepts I have. Laser and plasma weapons are cool but they'd be cooler if they had even more sci fi names to go with them, if that makes sense.

Hoomen, per the circle I drew for you, I have some questions. Would you guys be fine with us setting up a major naval base that you can share with us on one of those islands where we can truly protect that whole gulf from schizos and anyone which wanted to cause issues? It is advantageous that a base be set up there given the protection the islands can afford.

Also, I would like to claim that island in the arctic name of Hoshiyomia in the name of science. Yes, it looks big but it is probably as useful as something like South Georgia IRL. It will be icebound often, and has little use as a military base because of that. Rather, to me, it makes sense that a nation that it interested in science, and the stars would want to have some sort of scientific base up there. Schizos would be a problem, but we can figure out how to deal with them.

I REALLY wanna work on the body horror stuff for the sanalite story but I can't find a good way to set the pacing since it would take days for the saplification to happen and its so weird to write over that much time in a single story.

Have been brainstorming some ideas for stories for the Hoshiyomi meetings since they want to build a port in our Darkling Mire though.

Sur le Seuil and Sept Jours du Talion are two books of his that I read and conjured the feelings you talked about. Desu I wouldn't say I love them, they're really quite edgy and torturous, but the prose is very skillful.

The Sanalite is already dead. He just doesn't know the seeds have already taken over his nervous system. I had an idea once for a parasitic plant monster girl who grows microscopic vines from spores. She uses it to cure a patalyzed kid but eventually the plant takes over his body and mind. Lots of non-consensual pollination happens.

Hoshiyomi, I was thinking about saplings using some redwoods to grow an extremely tall lighthouse for the northern outpost you were asking for, but can you think what kind of light at the top would be super bright but not have a hazard of burning the wooden structure?

NTA, but in the period that would have good odds of being a whale oil lamp, as they burn very bright and clean, especially with the hooman whaling tradition to the south. If it's a fancier lighthouse, the lamp might be enclosed in a fresnel lens. In either case, the odds of the fire spreading from the lamp to the tree are relatively low; would basically require breaking the lamp open, since the flame is fully contained. Might want to not have branches where the lamp room is just in case. The room could also be fireproofed if you grew a moist moss on the walls and floors.

The spec bio folk? Of course I know them, they're me! IRL examples of bioluminescence are indeed not nearly power dense enough, but when you get down to it the luciferase reaction is chemically similar to good old combustion, it's just an oxidation. So if you do that reaction hard enough you'll get your light.
I don't think a jar full of fireflies would do it though, their output would be too inefficient even if you packed enough in there, they'd just cook themselves alive. Maybe one giant, dog sized firefly, constantly drip-fed with nutritious sap could do it? Or maybe some kind of mutated anglerfish kept in a small aquarium at the top?
Or maybe growing glowing moss all over the treetop could do it, but that light might have more trouble cutting through the fog since it's less focused.
