If someone doesn't want to play as a Star, they can just opt to not draw from the in-game gacha banner. After all, unless things change only Myth is unlocked by default.
Also if the dev decides to add Stars-related items and unlocks, then it becomes a massive headache to balance if you purposefully add a mode or toggle that excludes them.

If the dev doesn't add stars related items, it will look bad on the dev since every character so far has an item related to them in the game, even if the stars became playable characters.
If I was the dev, I would either work on a way to make the game modularised by branches (which will be a pain from the game design pov), or just bite the bullet and either add the stars in only to see half of hololive stop playing it, or backtrack and just not add the stars to the current game.
Another solution will be to make a parallel game of holocure called starscure or something.
I just don't see a good way out for the dev, but honestly this problem will only arise after they have done implementing all of hololive so far.

I feel like people are interpreting anon's words as if you should watch and enjoy everyone in your oshi's group but I don't think that's what he meant. I like everyone in the group but I certainly don't watch all of their solo content and will only catch the collabs that interest me. What he probably finds confusing is people that don't care for or even dislike such a vital aspect of Roberu the vtuber, it's not just that he's part of a corpo group, it's the fact it's an idol group who are marketed to be together, and are known to have struggled together early on.
