Referred to as the Candy Kingdom and collectively as luknights, lunaitos, and lumen. Lunaitos are a culture inspired by traditional ideas of knighthood taken to the utmost extreme with every citizen, be they a fighter or not, wearing armor as their regular clothing and striving to work towards knightly greatness no matter what profession they take. The Candy Kingdom is largely made out of edible treats, gingerbread trees, jelly bean bushes, and chocolate pits are just some naturally occurring desserts.
Lunaitos all have unnaturally high blood sugar levels to the point where their fluids and flesh are sweet to taste. They are ruled by the Hime Vessel, a forever young representation of the lunar goddess Himemori Luna who is protected by an honored guard of Elite Lunaitos.

Personally, I suggest looking at /vnug/ before anything. The guy completely fleshed out basically all the important parts of his nation before writing any major stories. Once you have a good groundwork set up, storied will come much more naturally.

See that's the thing that we are trying to prevent, keep some realism at least with a consistent climate. So I would advise against changing the climate from what it is, and instead keeping in on the biome level, hell, specbio some plants if you want to. The one unwritten rule we kinda decided on a bit ago was that climate would not be messed around with much if at all preventable. I know you weren't there for that, so just letting you know now.

For example, my original plan for /rrat/ would see the valleys being very biodiverse in terms of plant species and us being able to grow plants that usually wouldn't grow there, but I would still keep the tundra climate that area has. I would just place insane amounts of chuubanite in the ground, which would warm it up to the point where valleys could support more plant species, helped further along with specbio for each of them to further allow them to prosper in the colder climate.

Generally I agree, but given Fauna's lore it was just a sad matter of circumstance that /uuu/ is where it is. I'd even be willing to bend a lot more if /uuu/ was younger than it was, but a lot of our lore has already been established on our climate being primarily set by the chuubanite, and the board seem to be ok with it when I was originally writing for /uuu/ a while ago.
Like I said though, I will try to keep it contained to the forests, and even then not to all of them so we can still get some taiga/boreal forests in our northern or more mountainous regions. I don't want everyone to think Im just handwaiving a whole magical "bubble" around our borders.

The Dfb and Cfc regions can still be pretty lush. While Cfc in the real world is generally pretty barren with mostly shrubs, places like Iceland did and still have forests, though with smaller and thinner trees. Spec bio can help with those regions. Dfc is a little tricky but that can probably be remedied by specbio like cunt said. I can help you work on that I guess since this concerns our region as well in terms of the vegetation.

I think the key’s to combine the thread’s activity and memes, how you interpret them as a culture, and how this world functions. I don’t know much about /wAIfu/ although Liora talking to her AI counterpart yesterday’s pretty fun but I think it has a pretty clear theme and a lot of memes of its own, so they should work well as material for your work!
As for integrating it into this world, I think it’s important to remember that we’re often the product of our environment especially before modern times, so you should keep in mind what kind of climate and biome /wAIfu/ has here and read on how real life cultures from similar environment adopt to their surroundings. That should give you a pretty decent idea of how the people will generally go on about their day and a solid foundation to build on.
Personally I think the part you have to invent on your own’s the institution of the country, things like government and religion and so on since most of the time the thread and the source material won’t provide much. On the other hand it also means you’ll have more leeway on how to do those things if you’re into that!

So I have been pondering the concept of magic in my setting. Since I want a technologically modern setting, I've decided to throw the idea of magitech away pretty much completely, but still keep the idea of magic
Instead, magic is seen as an antiquated solution to a modern problem. Why train for hours and gather ingredients and recite incantations to shoot a bolt of fire when a gun can do the trick? Why bother to learn how to teleport when the energy and time expenditure is so exhaustive it basically isn't worth it and you could've driven there or flown there in the time it took but without the fatigue?

Great question.

I want to make this clear right away. None of your ports are going to be ice free year round. I think it is reasonable for even the main ones to be frozen 4 months a year being generous. Some others will be frozen 8 to 10 months. Because the whole concept of Icebreakers actually doing anything in this period is completely ridiculous even in a magic world, this means that your nation has a window during the late spring summer and early fall to trade externally via sea.

Now, one of the options you actually do have I think is having roads on the ice during the winter that can take goods to say, one of NijiJPs ports in /rose/ or vice versa. I don't know how long that would take but it's feasible. (I know where they are, one is on the peninsula and on is on the big river. I can mark them on your map.)

Regarding land trade, it's not much better but I think your people would adapt to it over time. Snow and Ice is always an issue for them, but I am sure you guys probably develop methods to deal with them properly. A lot of your trade will likely come by land and you will have many caravans trekking through the conditions. But I also think that there will be a period where all types of trade are likely impossible, which leads your culture to have a tendency to stockpile goods and food in particular. I remember this being said, but a trade route up to Mujigae that would take you to sea trade from an ice-free port in the Golden Sea or up to Syrenia would do well for Anya and for Petra, you will have to go through Drakenland. Unfortunately, not possible because Dragoon has his nation as an autarky and isolationist that refuses trade, but I think that we (the Empire) make them allow trade. or through /rose/ (Which is hazardous to say the least if you trade north through it, though crossing it to Ethyria along the south and then up to nenmen is a viable route imo..) For me, most of Petra's trade is by sea.

Interior, you would spend a lot on roads and the upkeep of infrastructure in general. It's a fantasy world, so use your imagination. Maybe make a snowblower from chuubanite or some kind of steam engine road vehicle that is dedicated to clearing roads. I know some would say you could do the same with icebreakers, but sea ice is much different and out of the question because Chuubanite isn't a magical "I can do all things" matter that breaks the laws of physics.

It has also served as a place for anons to coordinate stuff or post in when they don't feel like checking the thread because the schizo problem was pretty bad like a month or two ago. Essentially the story would start out with him having some reason to delve deeper into an /uuu/ forest than other sanalites have before. By that point sanalites would know that there are not just cultural stigmas against strangers going deep into the forests, but their tech and their biological cataloging would have shown that the flora and fauna changes somewhat drastically as the forests get bigger and thicker. These changes would not be what zoologists would say are necessarily "evolutionarily driven".
His reason for deciding to go deeper might be up to you. In your first bit of the story he's tracking an animal, but it's dead. Though you do hint at him trying to help the cub though, so maybe he goes deeper into the woods, hoping to find some food for it? The point is, he has to have some reason to not just go deeper into the forest, but *continue* to go deeper, even after things start getting weird.
Since you gave him to me to die anyway, I would start with the assumption that he's already well into the "first" layer of the forest, close to the second. Now that he's decided to spend the night there, he would wake up with some moss in his hair, maybe some under his fingernails as well. Small patches of his skin would seem dry, maybe a little rough, but nothing he wouldn't just chalk up to maybe a dry climate.
As we skip forward in the story, things get worse and worse, to the point where he can't ignore them. The dry patches of skin are turning into bark. The moss in his hair isn't just moss, its vines and leaves and they're growing out of his scalp.
One night he would wake up and see that small roots have grown out of his fingers and toes, some even finding their way into the soil of the forest (if he has a tent, they poked through it). In desperation he might try to yank the new growth off of his body, but the larger ones refuse to come out, the tugging causing extreme pain, and the small ones he can manage to rip out cause bleeding wounds. The blood that seeps out of these wounds is still red, but with just a slight tinge of green.
Eventually movement would become difficult. The patches of bark on his skin are getting harder, and where they are growing over joints, those become very hard to flex.

Etc, etc, as the story goes on, with the end result being something like picrel.

If you're interested in helping out or co-writing this, you can write all of his parts, motivations, decisions, etc, and I can write all of the descriptions of what's happening to him, what the side effects are, what things he would see in the forest, how the forest would react to his actions, etc.

We can hide our villages by moving the forests around us, but thats primarily because our forests are alive in an almost conscious way.
I think the best thing we could give you is a lot of soils from deeper within our forests. In the deep forests, just about anything planted will grow at an accelerated rate. While this effect wouldn't last forever outside of /uuu/, if we gave you some heavily invested with our chuubanite, you could take it back home and plant your trees in it, and our shamans could teach and train your risuners and your witch how to control the accelerated growth within our soil using chants and prayers (and possibly some blood sacrifices since youll probably need something boosting chuubanite) to shape the plants into large structures like houses, buildings, fortifications, etc. made out of solid wood.
