Yeah I read books, try to play some musical instruments, lift weights, and sleep a lot. It's something I read long ago about taking your mind off a subject when you're stuck, but not letting go of the focused state of your mind, so don't dive into a month long vidya binge. Then sleep a lot so your brain reorganize but doesn't lose your work ethic/motivation.

Someone gave me the nickname deviant art anon way back. I had the same question and the key factors: line weights too heavy and poorly controlled without any taper or pressure control. Vague curves instead of anatomy. Drawing lines instead of forms. Everything is 2d nothing has form or projects out of the plane of the page. Stiff poses. Harsh and heavy shadow poorly blended. Too much saturation and poor contrast control. Those were the big ones.

Not fucked at all, but if you did some focused anatomy studies I think you’d make big improvements quickly. At a glance, where would you put the eyes and how does that relate to the relative size of the head and face? Do you feel the hair as you’ve drawn it corresponds with the head you outlined? Is that bellybutton where you want it? In general things lack a little definition. Just as an example on the right shoulder where is the clavicle and trap vs the deltoid? As the deltoid tapers what makes up the rightmost contour and should there be a dip on transition? It can be frustrating because the tiniest change in contour can make something feel awkward vs sexy and often you don’t even know why. If I have any concrete advice it would be to always use real people as reference for anatomy and use other drawings mostly as a way to see how they cheated/simplified things.

My favorite anatomy book for anime style is Michael Hampton's. Some like Vilppu's as well.
What I would really suggest to anyone doing art and want to study anatomy is to start lifting. The benefits exercise does to your brain aside, learning your muscles and its functions carries over tremendously to art. Also as long as you're not half assing it, in as little as 6-8 months you have your own half decent anatomy model every time you look in the mirror. It's especially useful if you manage to lose enough weight to be able to see your bone landmarks on your body in 3D and suddenly all the textbook will make more sense.
Yes this applies even if you're not the little girl, you get your proportion ratio from the anatomy books and you just apply the actual muscles and landmarks onto it.

I had a similar experience a few years ago. I quit drawing in 2018 because I was only drawing Dragon Ball fanart for the past 8 years, it all looked mid, and it was stressing me out that I wasn't enjoying drawing anymore.

I wound up seeing a really nice anime drawing online in 2020, and remember thinking "That's really good. It's a shame I'll never be able to draw like that". And thinking that made me mad, so I started drawing again and haven't stopped since.

Now I'm a lot better, I'm not as good as I would like, but I think I'll get there eventually. Hopefully you can figure it out and get out of your funk! :D

from personal experience and people i've seen/know, if you want to improve then you should try to get into the habit of drawing every day or every other day. Doesn't even matter what you draw or for how long, but you **need** to enjoy what you're drawing, or else you'll get frustrated and burn out. As the other anon suggested, try sketching and not using hard lines immediately, ambiguity from sketching helps make art look better than you'd imagine

Hope you can find a good rhythm to practice consistently, and have fun while doing it, art is very much a journey :)
