Yeah there are 3 games in the series and all are great.
They're games that don't overstay their welcome, very unique gameplay, they're easy to pick up but with a lot of room to improve. The gameplay is just very fun, something about getting resources, growing more pikmin, fighting bosses, exploring and finding stuff is very fun.
I'd say try 1 then 2 and then 3. It's worth going in order.
If you want to try 1 use dolphin obviously, and google the HD upscale mod pack, it uses AI enhanced assets for some textures to make it look better.
The first game has a 30 day timer, you fail if you don't get all the parts by the 30th day and most people fail at least once before finishing it. You can reset every day but honestly I think it's not worth it, just play till day 30 hope for the best and if you fail try again.
Getting better time is part of the fun. You can complete the game much faster than 30 days once you know where parts are, get better at managing multiple tasks and become more efficient with your pikmin.

So treatment can boil down to interacting with the patient, the therapist can have both a positive or a negative influence.
Also psychologists and therapists in general are not real doctors, they're not looking for physical conditions like chemical imbalances that need to be treated, they're trying to interpret the feelings of the patient and provide input that will help them, so it's a more biased and subjective field with more interpretation and where treatment is not the result of a standardized drug but the words of a person with their own biases and flaws.

I was clinically depressed for 15 years and was in rehab, and went through a lot more than your typical depressed person and I actually cured myself unlike 99% of people in that same situation. By your devils advocate, why would you trust people who can't lift how to get stronger?

If you're arguing for efficacy, going to the gym leads to better life outcomes and better sense of wellbeing when polled compared to going to therapy. Same for taking vitamin d and zinc over ssri's on average.

Alcoholism has that same issue of labeling yourself. Once you label yourself an alcoholic you are now a victim of a disease and working your way out of that just got way, way harder. AA is less effective at turning people around than getting slapped in the face is.

The issue with all of these treatments is that they are extremely feminine in nature, and completely defer responsibility into the "it's not your fault" territory, which is exactly what people want to hear, but hurts them the most.

Back in the day people would join the army and would get themselves sorted out because they really needed discipline and order, and to use their hands and be distracted (not to say getting your head blown off is beneficial, but the training is), however nowadays that obviously is not the go to solution.
