personally I think geoguessr the way the Japanese girls play it is a bit boring. They just wander around until they find a sign that literally tells them where they are. Doesn't really seem like it's in keeping with the concept of the game, like why bother at all if you aren't going to use any environmental clues or anything to do with the actual location.

Japan is super mountainous so ultra flat countryside actually narrows things down a decent amount, for example. There's more to work with in the environment than people are bothering to realise because they get lazy and just look for a literal signpost that literally has the actual name of exactly where they are written directly on it. A general is as active as the streamer it is dedicated to. Marine has been on soft-retire mode for a year and a half for a variety of reasons. Of course the amount of overseas ichimi is going to drop off a bit, notwithstanding other factors impact the fans themselves.

I'll be honest, I just got bored during the Aquamarine stream and started watching the new niji girls do owarematen, was interesting seeing a different group of people tackle the same questions after seeing marine with sanki and gamers do it.

It hurts so much more when Marine is doing something that doesn't really hit now that her activity is so much more sparse.

Like usually a zatsu would be great but I felt annoyed that she was doing lots of empty teiban stuff in the comeback one instead of mentioning like, anything to do with her trip for example.

Might just be time to stop hoping Marine will deliver the goods. I'm still gonna check out all her streams but I guess I have to keep those expectations in check.

The thing is, Geoguessr really should have been a decent backdrop for some good taidan content but they seemed more interested in actually playing the game, what a shame.

But yeah, that's why I wasn't really engaging with the stream content. It bothers me that conversation is so shallow too, you're probably right that not enough people know Japanese here which is part of what causes it. Dunno where people who do know Japanese are talking about it though, it's not like her chat's a great place for it.

She talked about this a year ago or so. Basically she lost motivation to stream, so she instead focuses on other work like aquarium and other off-stream projects. She only streams when she feels like it. It's a shame but it's probably better than forced streams.

I'd say it's about as bad. Aqua's main content was solo gaming so now that she doesn't want to do it there's nothing left. Marine not doing solo gaming isn't as big of a loss but still sucks.

I imagine) was really worried about her when she disappeared for that week, and she made a bunch of excuses about feeling like her tweets were unneeded or whatever. But I thought it was good someone was saying stuff to encourage her to at least check in. A tweet every so often shouldn't be too much.
