Am I in the minority in saying that I actually prefer the shitty voice changers over just using a deep voice, it's clearly meant to be completely absurd and stupid, and using a lower register makes it feel tryhard, especially with people like Bae or Kronii who actually can sort of pull off a lower voice register

I don't know if you are, but I never found it tryhard. If you ever watched any of the HoloJP host clubs, the lower register is literally just a way to make everyone laugh from how stupid it sounds.
