I remember when they were originally making DQ9 it was planned to be an action RPG (due to the multiplayer focus) however DQ fans raised so much of a stink that they switched it back to being traditional turn based. If anything they will just change the way the battle system works and I'm thinking it could be something like Chrono Trigger with the way the characters move around the battle field. DQ11 had the style where you could move around but it was totally cosmetic. Maybe in DQ12 it won't be cosmetic anymore.

I already knew about Pekora through MC clips but I wasn't really interested in her. One day someone recemended me Patra's MGS gameplay, it was good buy afterwards youtube recommended me Peko playing mgs3 so gave it a try. She wasn't very good, but she was so into the story and was clearly falling in love with the franchise that I couldn't stop watching her. Her death stranding gameplay sealed the deal for me.
