I guess this also means we can't use any crop from /nasa/. Depending on the climate I guess we'll have to put off the sandwich and soup kitchen. Meat and cheese is pretty good on barley and rye breads but I'd like to get catsup, mustard, lettuce, and tomato. Lettuce and tomato won't be doable on the border. But Mustard seeds and dried herbs can be imported easy. Meat would have to be butchered the same day its eaten. Though one advantage of living in the north mountain is we can make a cold ice house.

Just because we can't have /nasa/ crops doesn't mean we can't help grow native crops. I think if there's a lake farm in the east that's warmer and more fertile then wheat is still possible. One year we can grow beans and peas. Then the next year we'll grow wheat. And then the follow up year after wheat we'll let the land rest. Then turn it into grazing land for cattle.

Anyway we can import dried wheat grains and use them exclusively for pastries and pies until we get a local wheat crop. Thoughts?

>> No.41199512

>>41198961
I'm not going to let a shitposting schizo ruin our plans. Anyway we can have a bakery with barley and rye. Wheat and sugar imports will be used exclusively for more expensive cakes and pastries for weddings and parties. We can even bake mincemeat pies with beef and lamb for workers.

Worst comes to worse we'll change location to the city. I'm hoping the country has less regulation for a trading post town.

Absolutely, my own, while not at all detailed, plan for this was to eventually spread over many different fields, agriculture being one of the main ones. What's better than being your own supplier, afterall? But for now, focus on that first small bakery and expanding that. The farms and production facilities can come later.

Also I really hope neither of you actually took me seriously when I said that the deal is off because of a single anon...

Ah ok, i see you are avoiding a vote by instead making it lore first. Sneaky sneaky sneaky. Too bad that:
A. The thread will decide if this is canon or not
B. This will not change the precedent of gobbling up other nations and this “unification” will be short term.
I suggest you quit now before the thread loses all trust in your reasonability, good faith, and cooperativeness as a writer as this will permanently tarnish your reputation to the point that you are a figure as laughable as Megas and Navyronie.
Nice job trying to pull a fast one, and i am sure all of that hard work you put into making this just went down the drain when everyone realizes what you are doing.

You moron, you ignoramous. You need to put into words how this is a bad thing, hell this seems like what someone with malicious intent would specifically not want. If two writers want to act as one thread, they don't need to merge to do it.
>It's a bad precedent because meta wise, this makes no sense considering both threads are seperate
Refer to first sentence, then reread paragraph.
>It's a bad precedent because they backed down yesterday and now are going through with it.
What the hell does this even mean, no explanation as to how this is a bad precedent whatsoever, you're spamming words at this point. Pick up a fuckin dictionary and use an argumentative point better than a meek personal attack that implies, what, indecision? Weakness? Be specific, nimrod.
>Overall, it's extremely disrespectful to our thread that they just don't give a shit.

I love how something fun that my friend and I have planned as lore is getting turned into a meta conversation instead as if meta is now more important than lore. Are we not a worldbuilding thread or are we a "Checks and Balances" thread? What matters more?

This is going to take months to get wrote and is ultimately a fun project that we are planning. It's not about "map changes" nor "Meta precedents" nor "Power gaming " when those subjects never really came to mind beyond us thinking that this would literally be the response. Not excitement at the potentiality that Hooman and Cunt have shown, but crying over those silly ideas that are far from important when we have so many possibilities of great writing and fun from this! This is between me and the nijimales rep, and us wanting to bring a unique experience inspired by real world events to Vitubia. Isn't that what makes this project special or have >we forgot that?

Problems: 1) Either you're moving to an area with no wheat where barley bread sucks. Or 2) You move into an area that has wheat but already has a bakery. Technology and recipes aren't going to solve your problem. You're an alien business. You have no transportation. No refrigeration, and no luck. You're better off working for an already established bakery than making your own. Give up.

I'm taking smaller steps. Right now the idea is to try to sell a bakery with ovens with thermometers and shelves. I baked bread by hand myself before. I know how much work and care it takes to mix and knead dough. Its hard work but fun. I'm thinking if we can't get local farms or traders for ingredients then maybe we can rent the ovens for bulk orders.

The idea with settling in a trade town on the /rrat/ border is to sell bread to traders who are too busy to settle down or workers like miners that want an easy lunch to carry. But maybe the community can bake bread themselves and we just offer the workspace to do that.

We could sell some raw ingredients and firewood to customers that would rather bake the bread themselves in our ovens. In the middle ages ovens were owned by guilds. But the practice still exists for wholesellers. I worked as a bread vendor. How it worked is restauraunts and grocery stores would buy bread from a vendor who orders from a bakery. That said this business model only works with fossil fuel trucks.

Founder, I have some ideas for a way to streamline /meat/'s administration and government lore. Which are both lacking and fuzzy in some parts. Climeat and PG, if you guys are around you can join in. Non-/meat/ writers can chime in their thoughts if you wish.

>Problems
1. Assumptions of unitary government
Just like every other people who do not read, is that everyone assumed that /meat/ is one unitary state that bows down to the central government in Nacatlah.
2. Vague separation of power
While we established that /meat/ is a federation of multiple administratives, we have not fully flesh out these divisions which led to some confusion. Are these divisions states, districts, counties? To top it all of some are still in the dark about diplomacy as they assume that everything has to go through Nacatlah first, when in practice each division is free to carry out their diplomacy independently.

>Real life inspiration
We have established that /meat/ takes inspirations from the Aztec and the Norse. This is actually a great boon for us for these two powers have the solutions we need.
1. Triple Alliance
The Aztec/Mexica is NOT a single unitary power. It is in fact an alliance of THREE separate similarly likeminded powers (Tlacopan, Tetzcoco, Mexico) under the guidance of the tlatoani. In practice, these states are autonomous entirely, with the capital being the military leadership. The Hueytlatoani deals with external matters of the alliance, while the Cihuacoatl is the leader of each alliance member.
2. Norse Thing/Council of Four
We've established in lore that leadership is an elective theocracy, from the intelligentsia caste through merit, in a bottom-up hierachy.
Town clergy elects district clergy, elects state clergy, elects realm clergy.
However we have not established the system in whole.
In Aztec society, the Hueytlatoani is elected from the Council of Four. This inspiration fits seamlessly well with what we have. But instead of FOUR, it will be made up of the realmly ministers you have written prior; Rikitnahualli, Rikitlachixqui, Rikitlaeknir, Rikitpochteca, Rikitemachtiani, Rikitlalchiuhqui.
Recall the number of Realm Ministers, SIX.
But it needs one more function.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thing_(assembly)
In Norse society, legislative is done through an assembly, the thing. I propose that things are the method inn which the leaders are elected. A town thing elects the town clergy. A national thing elects the national leader, our Council of Four shall enter an alliance-wide allthing to elect the Rikittlatoani.

>Solutions
Supranational Theocracy
/meat/ is not a single unitary nation. Inspired by the Triple Alliance, it is in fact a supranational alliance of SIX separate clergy states;
- Nacatlah (Including the island of shadows)
- Nacatlan
- Matiriki
- Atoyavik
- Ryonaheim
- Namakubi
SIX separate states, SIX Realmly ministers. And our flag has SIX eyes.
The Realmly ministers ARE the leader of each clergy state (the Rikitlaeknir is the king-priest of Atoyavik etc) with the Rikittlatoani being the alliance leader, our EU chairman of sorts. Who are elected through things of varying stages.
Each state is allowed to freely carry out their tasks independently as long as they do not go against the Rikittlatoani. This clear separation of power will allow for more complex diplomacy and arrangements. Such as Matiriki being friendlier with /nasfaqg/ and /morig/, but Namakubi despises /nasfaqg/ and /morig/ for it is also a mercantile trade power being pestered by the Black Fleet.

That is my proposal for the confusion of our government and its administration.

That is where I chose NOT to take inspiration from the HRE or any similarly imperial systems. Under an empire, the emperor is in charge of the foreign policies. Even if a king does not want war, they are forced to under the command of the emperor.
By making /meat/ an alliance, each member is allowed to decide their own foreign policy. This allows for some 'leeway' with how we do diplomacy and trade.
Such as the Golden Circle proposal and the Ailivian Trade League, the treaty could be made with every /meat/ members except one.
Another is that it allows for more in depth connections to be made. Foreign powers can do deals with /meat/ if each member has different foreign policies. The cloak and dagger-ish leader of Atoyavik will not deal with heathens, but Ryonaheim is willing to out of pragmatism.
This solves our biggest plothole: Why would a fundamentalist clergy state do deals with other fundamentalist clergy states?
It is because we are not one nation.
Another reason for this division is that it allows us to represent our thread with six parts
Namakubi: Our stealth threads. Nobody knows it'a ours but visits it.
Ryonaheim: Our orthodox side. For discussion of Akira and co
Atoyavik: Our avant-garde side. Represents us discussing adult or weird, but non ryona, chuubas like Milk and Tsugu.
Nacatlah: Our fanfic/abuse side. Represents our writings of corpos being abused amd eaten.

i like it, but i kind of want to delve a little deeper into the philosophy behind each region (realm? nation? i'm going to refer to them as regions, and the whole as the nation, but correct me if you think something works better). also, if we are naturally fractured, that would theoretically make it easier for us to adapt to the janny attacks, since each region would be used to acting more independently if need be. what do you think the primary pantheons of each region would be? you mentioned milk and tsugu for atoyavik, and obviously the others would be worshipped, too, but it might give us some insight into how they think if we figured out some of these things.
also, i remember i noticed something about the 6 eyes that i thought was cool, but i don't remember what that connection was now. anyways, i love it when lore acts as an allusion to something like this, so i approve of the direction. problem is that idk how to edit it into our lore rentry, or how to do it in a well-organized manner, so whoever has that stuff covered, good luck and thank you. hopefully they are still around.

Also a little thing I realised.
If the supranational ministers ARE the leaders of each alliance members, this will ensure mutual trust between the /meat/ states.
The Rikitnahualli is elected from the leader of Nacatlah.
The Rikitlaeknir is elected from the leader of Matiriki.
That way, even if the leader of Matiriki has power over their state, per the alliance magical activities is decided by the Rikitnahualli in Nacatlah.
In return, the Matiriki leader will be in charge of deciding the direction of healthcare and welfare for Nacatlah.
Each alliance member's fate is in each other's hands. A true ryona experience.

Wouldn't that mean each leader will have no ministers/advisors since the other members of the alliance will do it for them? i think the idea is the division of labor, but i'll agree that they shouldn't be too dependent on each other. with that said, the idea of trusting the other to not harm you (too much) does have a nice parallel in ryona, but it might cause some problems in terms of the actual system. i think it might end up being a bad idea to do it like that i guess.

I knew you'd say that. I admit that my wording is not the best.
Let's take the EU for example. France and Italy.
The leader of France is also the director of the EU Medicine Agency. The leader of Italy is also the director of the EU Food Agency. They do not rule as respective ministers. But to harmonise, mediate, supervise each other. Each member can do however they want, but the leader of the neighbouring nation supervise how it can be implemented throughout the allied realm.
Now, do this the same with /meat/. The instituitions you wrote, the Fellows, are like the EU Agencies.
The Stadrtlartoani of Matiriki is the Rikitnahualli. They are in charge of handling magic research and distribution of knowledge.
The Stadrtlatoani of Ryonaheim is the Rikitlaeknir. They are in charge of supervising medicine and welfare.
So your neighbour is not your minister, they are your supervisor at harmonising policies between the alliance members.

so, division of labor, right? if so, i think that is fine. each region can focus on their own area of expertise, and will supervise the others as well. with that said, we need to make sure there are two things in place to make sure it works. 1) a meritocratic system that incentivizes each region to advance and share their wisdom with each other. 2) a way to test said wisdom, ideally via experimentation of different policies. what systems can you think of to those effects?

Well. Founder already wrote that.
According to Founder's story https://rentry.org/vtwbg-meatreturn

"The Rightfully Won Champion of the Althing Game of Wit and Zeal;
Chosen One; Blessed One;
The Great Realm Speaker of All Abottoir;
The Wisest of the Nahualli;
The Strongest of the Vikingr;"

"For in every land, shall they be the workers and the scholars. Soldiers and priests. The society of two, of the soft hand and the hard hand.
For in every land, shall we be led by the faithful. Of an Abottoir. Who shall maintain and enforce the law of the Gods.
For each Abottoir, the gifted among gifted shall be chosen. The wisest of the wise, the strongest of the strong. To lead Fellows of The Places where their talents blossom and bear fruit.
For each leader of the Fellows of The Places, one of greatest mind, body, and soul will be chosen. To become the King of Kings, the Priest of Priests, and the Blessed Mouth of the Gods themselves. The Champion of the Althing Game of Wit and Zeal; the Rikitlatoani"

I will based the thing assembly proposal based of this and our old lore here >>/vt/thread/S18539186#p18552115

Each district will be specialised in a specific field. Each leader is elected bottom-up through things.
Someone from the intelligentsia class becomes a priest-mayor for a town abattoir. With enough merit, he gets elected as the leader for the county. Then the state. Then the country as the Stadrtlatoani. And when he becomes the leader of his state, he's in charge of supervising his area of expertise throughout the alliance.

To become the Rikittlatoani however is much more complicated. They have to prove themselves with knowledge and have military experience.
It's established that /meat/ allows transition of caste. From freemen to slaves, from slaves to free, from soldiers to scholars, mages to labourers.
>exchange of class should one's family is deemed worthy or unworthy. A lowborn labour family could be a merchant tomorrow, a noble today could be fertilizer next week.
>Sholo is a curious category, one that is sometimes dismissed by opponents of the system as a fabrication for propaganda purpose. It comprises the majority of slaves who willingly allow themselves to be enslaved, but are deemed insufficient to be wentli or awiyani for any reasons.
So the Rikittlatoani is chosen from someone who walked through both caste. As a soldier/marine/viking and as a priest/scholar/mage. Worked as a laeknir, fought as a vikingr, etc.
The balance of mind and body.

I like that you managed to link my interpetation of /meat/'s government with past ideas for this new system you got going. though now that you mentioned it, we really didnt have a unified lore on our government. we have bits and blurbs but nothing in detail. The old post mentioned our system as being aristocratic with elector nobles. This new system you propose with the thing assembly based off my poem now made it meritocratic of sorts. so /meat/ will be like an EU, comprised of 6 clergy states/theocracies, with a meritocratic election to elect its officials, and each theocracy is specialized in a specific field (farming, welfare, education, magic, faith)
I like it but my only concern is our realm wide leader, the rikittlatoani. what kind of power will he have since he's going to be the one that leads 6 nations?

The only issue I have with /meat/ is that they have repeatedly not made things clear enough to newfags and other anons about what their state is when they try to make deals with them.

Take Moonafic for example. He was told that /meat/ would join his Golden Circle, and would stop raiding him in present tense, as if they were 100% fine. That's something that is worthy of legitimate criticism and is extremely annoying because instead of explaining their situation at the moment and saying "this would need to be done in the past", they refuse to even mention that part and would go as far as to blame the other party for not realizing that.

Wait does the Corpse of Monoe do the magnet thing because Monoe was a magnet based chuuba or because Monoe got a sticky from her termination? If the latter, shouldn't other really important graduations have a similar effect, I feel like Coco's graduation and it's wave pool ripple effect throughout both the board and most of vtubing as a whole would definitely have some kind of catalog effect.

Since I have some downtime I guess I have a few ideas for phases of the bakery. The first phase is getting established. First we need local ingredients from farms. We'll also be testing which recipes we can make using what we have with our ovens. We'll take a loss with our failed recipes that we'll either eat ourselves or give away for charity. Which if a failed recipe is liked we'll add it to the menu. Most of the bakery workers will be working part-time jobs elsewhere either in the mines, farms, or taverns. Only mom and pop will run the bakery full time as pop still has a lot of post construction clean-up. Once we start getting regulars we'll begin planning orders for them. If a local tavern wants us to bake bread in bulk for the night to save time then we can do that. But to start we'll be baking on demand for individual orders.

We'll play it by ear until we become popular enough to expand. We can have family members work the bakery full time but it'd be better to look into hiring locals. Then once we start getting profits we'll look for a trader who can bring us wheat, sugar, and spices regularly. With popularity we can put more bread and goods on the shelf to sell them within day. We can even sell the stale bread for pennies to those who can't afford it fresh. To turn a profit we'll have to be careful not to bake too much.

The first year we'll see what's popular with the season. Then the next year we'll bake according to the season's demands. And once we become popular enough we can start expanding our product line. I'm hoping the first year we'll make enough profit to feed ourselves and pay taxes. We just need to find demand for our bread whether it be traveling merchants or local miners and farmers. The farmers might not want our regular bread but they may enjoy fluffy biscuits or honey glazed berry and nut cakes. We just have to talk to the community and see what they want.

You missed a word there. Failed experiments will be donated to charity if it tastes good at least. Bread that are inedible messes or burnt are poisonous trash. But sometimes accidents can lead to new recipes. And if they like one of our experiments then that's a new menu item.

For giving away stale bread its complicated. I've been in this situation where I had to dispose of fresh bread instead of give it away. If you give away free bread then nobody will buy your bread. That's the corporate argument. As for us starting out we won't have much money after starting the business. Which is why many family members will work part-time jobs not even for money. Just food sometimes.

I think I'll have a three day rule for fresh bread. If bread becomes stale after two days then its sold on thrift. After the third day the bread is trash. Also to make the best bread possible we need money to buy the best ingredients. If we don't have money to buy ingredients then we can't bake bread. Now we can make preserved bread that will last weeks. However that'll take some ingredients we'll have to import for the best bread.

Plus I think it would be better to teach the poor orphans how to become bakers themselves than to give them stale bread every day. It's the old proverb of teaching a man how to fish. I'll have to ask Hoomans on their opinion about charity and if they have community services.

>> No.41265452

I'm operating under the assumption that 100% of funds will go to the business. This means after we build the building and buy the ingredients we're left with no money for ourselves. There are also other community services the Sanalite family can do besides give away bread that's more important. For example they can enlist in the town's militia to train as soldiers. We can also use what we learned about building brick ovens to repair the community ovens. For bread we can volunteer to bake for charity event like Christmas, assuming we have enough ingredients. There are ways to help the community besides giving away free bread. Fixing an orphanage for free and giving them fresh bread is great charity work. It really depends on what resources we have at the time to do it.

Well we are circumcised… but still, no jewry. You all can claim to be them, I dont want to be them.

Ah, you've sealed your fate, akhi. Welcome amongst the Yiddish. You can deny it, but you can't deny your mother's blood, labriut.

>they're going through jewification
It doesn't all start at once, you'll succumb to the long nose blood that runs through your veins.
Good luck rumina anon, or should I say jewmina?

Should be able to. I kinda just wrote that religion section in a hurry and didn't really discuss their relationship with communities in detail.

Aight, since I kinda see that this is becoming just a q&a about anything and everything(which is good mind you), I'd like to pull back a bit, so we don't get lost. What I would like you to do, before anything else, is a floor plan of the bakery. You talked a lot about it yesterday, so I think it would be a good starting point, so we can at least visualize some stuff.

We only circumsise to know who is a believer and who is not. If we are jews, we are jews.

Front of the store is a walk in. I do want the bakery inside for sanitary reasons. I'm thinking about five meters by twenty or however wide the building is. Front is going to have bread on the shelf on display to buy. Behind the bakery is the kitchen. On one of the wide walls is at least three brick ovens. The ovens have two rack used to bake multiple racks of bread. A rack can hold four loaves. So eight loaves can be baked per oven. Which means 24 loafs can be baked at a time. Alternatively we can reduce the ovens to two. There's also a traditional brick oven in the corner. Adjacent to the ovens is a steel cooling rack to let loaves cool. There's a table in the middle of the kitchen. One side for mixing. One side for kneading. On the opposite side of the ovens across the table dough is laid to rest before cooking. How bread in the kitchen works is clock-wise. Grab ingredients at 12 o'clock and mix. Rest at 3. Prep at 6. Bake at 9. Then wrap and decorate at 12 o'clock. Which 12 o'clock is next to the store.
