It's fun to gradually build up a shared server with friends, I don't get much out of playing it solo. Honestly if other building games like Dragon Quest Builders had server tools and infinite map generation I'd rather play those

I don't really know what there possibly is to misunderstand though. You build stuff and sometimes have to kill specific monsters for building materials.

I've never played it either, but I pretty much get the mechanics just from the streams. It actually looks like a pretty fun game for an autist like me to just build weird mechanisms, but I feel like it might be boring to play solo, where there is no-one to appreciate the world you're creating.

The problem is that Minecraft went viral super early and they are afraid of taking it too far away from the experience that people bought it for. It was originally supposed to have far more survival elements but people just liked building elaborate shit out of blocks so they backed down on shit like monsters destroying your building and torches being temporary.

I wish they'd do more projects. The only thing I can tolerate on minecraft now is engineering projects like railways with functioning intersections and the likes but I think only Watame and Ina really do that and it's kind of rare.

Minecraft is unironically a good game. Do not let its popularity deter you like a retard. It's simultaneously really calming and somehow incredibly stressful. It's more punishing than most modern games with some scenarios erasing dozens of hours. I will say it doesn't start setting in until fifteen hours or so.
