Temako seriously considered retiring in Fall of 2021, after being turned down for a vtuber agency and her growth slowing to a stop.
I'm proud of her that she kept going for her fans, and even though every vtuber agency that considered letting her join fell apart, and she had a lot of difficulties, she kept going, and even started growing her channel.
I'm proud to call Temako my oshi, and I love her. I hope she has a happy life from now on, even if I can't see her again

She tried and tried to join an agency, and finally decided to debut as an independent.
Her debut stream was an endurance stream to 10,000 subscribers, which took her 18 days.
At first, I was just curious about a vtuber from the 4chan thread. Then I was interested, and felt bad for her. She only had 10 days of food prepared, and I started worrying about her. Those feelings of worry became a sincere feeling of caring about her as a person.
From there, there was no going back, and I loved her, and hoped for the best for her.
I wanted to cheer for her when she succeeded. I wanted to congratulate her for her hard work. But she was hit by unlucky event after unlucky event. She worked so hard to grow, but finally she is stopping.
I wanted her to win. I wanted so badly for her to succeed. I wanted the world for her.
I was so moved when she DM'd me and asked me to make more Temako threads, and that feeling alone kept me making threads for this past year. I love her as a person, as a fan. And even though I knew this outcome was likely, I can't stop crying about it. I can't stand to see her dreams and aspirations come to nothing.

I thought when Temako retired I would feel relieved that it was over. But I'm mostly just sad and frustrated.

I suppose it's really over. Sad that it had to end this way. I started doing JP reps so I could understand Temako more, I was hoping she'd stay until 100k subs at the very least, maybe by then I'd even be able to congratulate her in Japanese without stumbling. Temako was my first and will always be the only indie I'll watch. But, I'll leave the eulogy for later.

But additionally, that would be a pretty risky business. KU100 are extremely fragile and expensive, so if the renter damaged it, Temako would have no legal recourse. Unless she had it insured, which would probably be too costly to make worth the hassle.

At some point, I think she mentioned that a "friend"' mom had an electronics allergy. If she was talking about her own mom, and something happened where Temako is moving back in with her parents to help out, she wouldn't be able to stream without causing her mother discomfort...
