Entertainment styles along with culture. There's a lot of things that play into how it developes, but we all know Kiara has been engrossed with Japan both culturally and media-wise for many, many years. It's obviously calmed down a bit compaired to her younger years, but she talks about Japanese comedians and comedic style every once in a while. rest assured that most of the jokes and banter the JPs do is just as "cringe" if you would actually understand it and would analyze it "seriously" (which is not the point anyways, just shut your brain off and enjoy cute girls babbling).
The main difference is rather that the JPs aren't as afraid to actually lean into the cringe and play along with each other, so when someone puts out a line, the other picks up and actually retorts, and so on. Opposed to many ENs who hold back and don't really react well in picking up on what others put out, so many conversation lines or banter "bits" are left hanging. Either because after all this time they're still unsure about each other and don't really vibe, or they're afraid to play into the cringe because it's "uncool" and everything has to be caked under three layers of ironic detachment and depreciation, etc.
There are some individual EN pairings that work well because they've managed to overcome the general awkwardness and found a mutual vibe, but many other pairings or bigger groups still fall flat feeling stiff and awkward.
