Yumes keep Jester-abuse posting and calling him "two pumps", he's been having a lot of tech issues while playing into it with his "vain loser" schtick, and he admitted to eating sweets almost daily (often instead of real food). He is drowning in it because he's appealing to people who want to see a man suffer while chiding him for his bad behavior and helping him out despite protest.
I don't think this works outside of professional corpo or distinct hololarping because the distinction between roommate and character is universally agreed upon by both streamer and viewer. Something an indie could do to set this precedent is having an information panel stating that the streams are meant to be in-character and explicitly made for BFE-style interaction. Of course, for Bettel, this means getting belittled and nagged and roughed up a bit, so pick your niche carefully I guess!

I can only give my personal two cents and frankly I'm gonna be harsh here, I don't give a shit about debuts. I don't want to learn someone loves Tokimeki Memorial because I read their "favorite games" slide during a special stream, I want to learn it because they go on long autistic rants about it out of nowhere.
There's nothing wrong with wanting to take vtubing more seriously or rebranding but something about streaming I don't think people understand is that it's far more akin to something like a soap opera or a sporting event than it is a serialized TV show. The average person isn't going to go back and watch the pilot episode to understand a character's motivations. They aren't going to rewatch the entire season to see your character arc. They're going to tune into random live events when they can and check out some older highlights at most, and pick things up as they go along.

You should Hololarp hard and do things like commissioning artists who are known within the community. Otome yume, Western yume, and VTuber yume are all different audiences with only a bit of crossover, they usually keep to themselves in small groups because the hobby is emotionally vulnerable. Holostars yume are abundant because there are established rules and boundaries as well as other girls around to discuss them with.
Starting from zero will be hard, I don't know enough about social media to tell you how to gain traction and numbers, but I know the branding should be very deliberate and transparent
