Actually she admit to using a voice modulator.
Many of the part-time or actual Vtubers use it because despite being female, they still don't think they are cute enough.
i don't think any of the agencied Vtubers use voice modulators because they were hired for their voice to begin with. The agency would want the voice to stay the same.

I don't know if she ever showed her original voice, but if you go back to the very beginning of her attempt to make an avatar on twitter you would hear some various testing she did of what level of modulation she used.

She didn't hide it or anything, but after the first few test videos there was just no reason to mention it.

It's like how Cillia/Kyamii use live2d Avatar and also said she used a voice modulator. It is nothing worth making a big deal out of because it is all just a part of the avatar. They are not singers as such so there is no moral issue in faking a voice.

Also, I suspect that also aids in anonymity. Many of these people might be minor celebrities online but they still want to avoid being recognised in public.
