I really do miss how vtubing used to be. I really liked the character aspect of vtubing and how in dept it was, if you remember Kizuna AI was literally trapped in the white space. I do like livestreams but pre recorded videos were so much better and had so much more room for creativity. Not to mention the fact that livestreams are pretty long. The biggest gripe I have with modern vtubing though is how exploitive it is to the average fan now. Memberships superchats merch sometimes even buying songs. The same can be said about real relationships, since is impossible to directly experience someone else's consciousness you can only fall in love with your perception of what that other person is.

That is rather common among JP chuubas. Look at Pekora she was supposed to be like cute and harmless but instead she made her own lore being a megalomaniac rabbit princess/prankster.
