There are viewers who will live in a tent, and work 12 hours a day to buy their oshi nice things, and their oshi will let them, and even encourage it.
There are vtubers who would take money under the table to advertise a product or service. There are vtubers who would latch on to a popular vtuber to sleep with them, and tarnish their career. This is nothing new. This goes back as far as Hollywood and probably is as old as civilization itself.

I would still be me. I don't think the mentality of casting aside is correct, because it implies that all that work was for nothing. It wasn't. Even failure helps you grow as a person, so all that work made you a better streamer. You acquired experience and knowledge, and you invested time and energy into improving yourself. Ultimately your skill and personality as a streamer far outweights your "brand", and if you go corpo you will get the initial push to not only establish a viewerbase, you will most likely attract the people who found you before too, and they will follow you knowing you're the same streamer, just wearing different clothes.

The only thing that really bothers me is that depending on the corpo, I’ll be limited in the games I play. I like playing wacky games, but I know some corpos can’t get the rights to “game that came out in the 90’s or 00’s no one has heard of”. I think it would bother me to have to say goodbye to my old persona, but I also feel like my Vtuber is too much like myself and it would be more freeing and fun to start fresh with a new character with a nicer design that’s not just “me”. I can still put myself into the new character, but it would open up more possibilities. It would also make me sad to say goodbye to my viewers, but I also hope they can find me after I debut (plus I’m pretty sure some chuubas have told viewers or friends they were going corpo so maybe I can tell a few viewers).
