The best way to handle marketing is to release simple but strong messages and to let your audience spread it. I watched vtuber around February 2020, at those time YouTube actually recommend me Hololive clips(Matsuri and Pekora) and Nijisanji(Ange and Mito) but at the end Asacoco nail it for me.
Not that I dislike Nijisanji but watching them is like watching normal streamer on twitch with L2D.

The only way to tell popularity specifically in Japan more reliably than guessing is going to be Cover's financial report later in June, and then when ANYCOLOR releases theirs again next year. There is no possible way to get those numbers without working for them. The only reason people repeat the merch stuff is because a few members themselves said they earn more from merch than superchat, and obviously 5ch is going to extrapolate that to the extreme. Someone also did a comparison of Hololive's superchat:estimated revenue, and assumed it was around 1:3 or 1:4, so people also just assumed Niji's had to be higher.

The daily numbers are a shitshow, just if you want more fine stats. Weekly, Holo usually averages around 5m-8m more total views, and this doesn't include EN. Also ignore the entire right column, views/subs is a useless metric since it already tracks growth, so I'm not sure why he's tracking percentage of growth.

The number of members is also a lot less relevant than you think, since while Niji has 3x the amount of members in JP, they usually only upload 1.5x-2x as many videos. Besides a few dedicated Nijis, Holos stream much more on average.

I believe this doesn't track the 公式 channels either, but they're just 2 channels so you can compare them manually.
