Think I know what issue you're talking about and you actually can load files from local drive by either changing a setting in your broswer or setting up a local host web server
Theres a couple tools to do it including an easy to use python module or IDEs like webstorm are able to do it with the click of a button

I use Powershell since it's what I'm mostly familiar with. The code to access, extract the text, initialize the file and transfer each story to disk is all done through that, but it worked for the first one so I won't change much for v2.

But so I don't have to manually remove a load of special characters I'm running the story's title through a hash and the hash will become the file name; since it's impossible to tell which story is which by file name only I'll build an Index with a direct link to the file. The hope I had was to have a .csv file go to along with the Index page and have JQuery build the table with the data inside it - that way, it would be generated dynamically (I don't need to modify the Index, just the .csv). But modern browsers have a security flag that prevents you from running JS against a local file (for obvious reasons) so that won't work how I envisioned it.

Yeah, I found out you could change a flag in the browser to bypass the issue, but then everyone that downloads the package will need to do that, and it's just inconvenient. Same with running a local web server even if a microserver - it's just more trouble than it's worth it.

Will probably just manually build the table with HTML tags as each story is completed. No big deal, just won't look fancy or have a filter bar.

It was taken from that manga, yes, but I couldn't think of who could be a substitute for the side characters, so I opted not to talk about them at all, possibly to give any author who (hopefully) picks it up more freedom with the concept and adding their own twist to it. While I agree that this would be interesting too, I think it sort of doesn't work with Kurokami, mainly because she's not affiliated with any Hololive Gen or group. She's just a freeloader (in Fubuki's words) so her being in GAMERS would be odd. You could argue that she's just Shirakami pretending to act tough and whatnot, but if that's the case, why is it just her? Why not everyone else? These sorts of things make me not want to go down that path.
Still, your idea is pretty good. I just don't think it fits with what I have in mind.

I can't speak for everyone, but I don't think any specific prompt belongs to a singular person if it's just thrown out there for people to try. In fact, if we get multiple fics from the same prompt that are different enough from each other, that's kinda great. If there is a fic from an existing prompt that you want to take a crack at yourself, you probably want to make sure you aren't following its beats too closely.

I had always planned for Botan to appear in what I'm currently writing, and Kurokami is too cool of an idea to not use in a fantasy setting, it basically outlines an arc itself.
This will be great to really get more into their personalities and try to nail down their mannerisms, since Fubuki/Kurokami I know a lot less about than other chuubas.

Anons, I've been playing with the idea of a slice of life kemonomimi fic with multiple chuubas in different settings.
It goes like this.

As far as Korone, the "delinquent" girl angle is probably the easy, superficial path (likes boxing and sports in general, known for abusing her listener-san) but in a world that's split and harsh to kemo girls I feel her personality would be much better served if she were a sort of neighborhood hero of sorts, giving a hand to people in trouble with her skills and generally being helpful/useful to others.

Maybe she shows up one day while (you)'re getting mugged or bullied and just beats up the bad guys, or you find her helping an old lady carry her groceries home, despite a reputation for violence. She's skittish initially with strangers, but a complete goofball once she's comfortable around you.
