Its less about the ravine and more about how there's two beaches near each other. If it was a coral reef then both continents could share migratory species between them. And they can swim around /nasfaqg/'s island for easy food depending on the current. Though fishing spots could be wiped out in favor of port space. The waters around /nasfaqg/ could be shallower than we think. Its still miles deep though.

Hello everyone, it's that time of year once again! vtl4 is approaching fast and we need to decide on our new divegrass roster. Moraine love! A city built using moraines as natural fortifications is a wonderful idea. They can be incredibly wall-like, that's a neat idea. I also love how multiple aspects of the city are built around the growing season, since it's so critical to their survival. The flooding period, the canals, the dams, the dung tax. Thanks! Moraine’s probably one of the most striking images I’ve found when doing my glacier reps so I want to include it more in my work! It also helps that people in real life have thought moraines to be actual walls/fences built by unknown people or mythical creatures (I linked to Trollgarden a few times) so /vnug/ people thinking the same and using them for their own walls (I had that idea when this thread’s talking about the logistics of building a huge wall) don’t sound too unrealistic either
The focus around seasonal change’s a conscious one too both because I assume that’s the norm for most cultures before modern times and that /vnug/’s climate has a wide range of temperature. Like I mentioned in >>39916551 one design concept I have for /vnug/’s the “Overwinter State” where its daily existence’s tied to dealing with the harsh cold seasons. I guess it’s not too unrelated to our vtubers either since none of them loves winter too much (even if they consider it a nice break from the hot weather this year) but Kokone and maybe Lofi still have to deal with that
The dung tax’s my shitty idea! I came up with that after finding out taiga soil is too acidic for most plants and manure’s one way to raise the soil pH. Since the city sits on a major path for reindeer migration (and reindeer herders won’t need a lot of manure themselves) I figured they might as well sell the dung as a toll and that idea eventually developed into a tax. Other well-positioned settlements probably learn to do the same and some herders might go one step further and sell additional dun for money/other goods

questions for the other /ehe/ writer: Why establish a kingdom? Lore-wise Kanaruca used to be /pagi/ but there was a plague/famine/governmental collapse so unless French Ojisan is some sort of /pagi/ nobility, there’s no reason for him to establish a new kingdom. Why not make the Suffet into both head-of-state and head-of-government and retcon French Ojisan to be the first Suffet instead (effectively turning the state into a sort of “Elective Dictatorship” or something). While we’re at it, what do you think if we change the term “Suffecate” into “Suffetdom”?

Taiga’s the same as boreal forest! It’s basically a forest filled with conifers that are the most common in subarctic climates so I think southern /hag/ will have them. Their soil’s not very good for farming but that’s what all /vnug/ has and I have since made stuff that makes them more useful in our own way

I did my reps for maple trees a while ago for Kokone’s land and while maple trees can grow in taiga their sap doesn’t have as much sugar as maple trees grown in warmer environments. It means making maple syrup from cold maple trees will take more sap which might be why it has a richer, complex taste

Do you have the technology to create gentle mist? Hydroponic farms rely on mixing water with fertilizer/nutrients and gently misting the roots throughout the day. You'll also need a greenhouse-like environment with stable temperatures and shelter throughout the year. Too cold and the condensation will rot the roots. Too hot and the mist vaporizes before it lands.

Hydroponics is not too complicated but it is care intensive. Exposed roots are frail things. Soil farming is better in the long run because soil has an ecosystem that protects the plant at the expense of space. Figure out greenhouses and mist hoses first. Hydroponics should follow once you know proper chemistry. Then there's a lot of trial and error with tending plants and dead produce.

Most shit has the same basic components, guano is just way more concentrated in potassium, nitrogen, phosphorus. Deer dung is probably comparable to other ruminant's, like cows? Not sure. Good for fertilizing either way.

I plan on it being an idea given by the robot girl, who I guess is named Cass, the (very) long term goal will be trying to grow crops that normally can't grow on the region, but it will mostly be kept in development and as a tool for study until it can be implemented at a larger and more economical scale. Cass will assist in development of it, along with other things she could do that may be less intensive.

Have you ever got a sprayer head for your garden hose? You change sprayers by twisting the nozzle or disc. Mist is where the water comes out almost like clouds. Also some sprayers have mist when you twist the nozzle.

As for maple I think maple syrup would still be a thing in /vnug/ but it might be more expensive and/or less sweet with a richer aroma. A related product would be birch sap which has similar properties (wiki describes it as “mineral-rich, caramel-like taste with a hint of spiciness that is not unlike molasses, balsamic condiment, or some types of onions”) but can also be fermented as a slightly alcoholic drink. Since /hag/’s warmer I think you should be able to produce more common maple syrup without issues! Meanwhile /vnug/ maple and birch syrup would be something like a special ingredient that sacrifices accessibility for a unique flavor

I also feel like the remaining reps of everything I have to do are just endless, but I'm still pushing on. Other than that, I had an idea of perhaps /wAIfu/, leaning on the dystopia aspect of certain IPs that relate to it, could focus a lot on isolation. Like, people largely not being allowed to interact much with others or maybe are forced to wear masks to explain how dependent the people are on these artificial partners for social interaction. The opium of the people or something like that.
Speaking of which, I think it's interesting how /wAIfu/ doesn't really have any god in the heavenly realm, at least not in the traditional manner. Perhaps they've somehow forged an artificial one where they interact with small splinters of, or perhaps they've been lured that they are speaking with the gods (chuubas) when in reality it's all an illusion.

I kind of see the ai generals as being more represented as a kind of rare commodity or artifact rather than as a nation on second thought since lots of people from different generals come through, in and out. It being hyper addictive though is a pretty common theme as when /waifu/ had its ai lobotomized, it was like an entire generation of graduations localized entirely on one general. I think /waifu/ shouldn't really be speaking to shards of their chuubas but in the same way that someone can /become/ like their chuuba and take on characteristics of them in a divine process, /waifu/ can imprint those characteristics onto their ai's.

For a long time, I really did think I was hated by many anons here because of this and the way I was treated in my mind as a lesser human than them (most of the thread) for whatever reason. If you think you are being mocked and kept around to be mocked, I can relate 100% to your feelings as there was a good period when anything I did at all turned this thread into a disaster. I isolated myself from many for that exact reason, because what is the point in me posting or discussing things at all when you get called vile names? But I have pushed on because I love the project and the people in it.

Believe me when I say this: Most anons here have good feelings for you but, like me, are terrified of upsetting you because of your innocence. Speaking for myself, the idea of upsetting you by accident has kept me from doing my best to help you in this project because I personally can already see what would happen to me if I did. generally speaking, yes. with that said, we have many ways of preserving food, and certain foods are better after a long period of time, if kept in the right conditions. i would imagine if your lands are made less fertile from your chuubanite, it might also be effected by your chuubanite in a way that would make most of whatever it produced better the closer it was to spoiling, maybe even giving it a longer period of time before actually going bad. who knows, that's just my suggestion. you can't have many hags if they all die at 20, and as i said, estrogen is often associated with neoteny, which is why women tend to live much longer than men, on average. your chuubanite would likely strengthen those effects, if you are to take my suggestions of how it works into account.

my thought was that a family that rations what it has with each other tends to either get much closer, or doesn't last very long at all, usually when the family doesn't actually love each other enough. the food wouldn't be fancy as much as it would be very tasty and made with love and care, part of that might be in how fancy it is, but the idea is that if good food is extremely commonplace, it's easily taken for granted. if you don't visit your grandparents very often, but when they do you always savor every bite, or alternatively if you have to put in an incredible amount of effort into getting any food, but when it all comes together it tastes better because you know how much you worked for it, that is the kind of thing i am thinking about when i suggest this. it also encourages trade which, as i said, increases the likelihood of finding people who would want to move to /hag/ specifically to help preserve your culture and cuisine. i fear that you are viewing this as a "negative attributes are negative, positive attributes are positive" sort of way, which is why i am kind of trying to push it to make sure this is what you want.
i said before that wantonly granting curses and blessings is a bad idea because it always has unintended consequences, and that blessings would actually be more detrimental depending on how they worked, and this is what i mean. seemingly negative attributes can be more benefitial than seemingly positive attributes, which can ironically be very negative. have you ever seen those movies where the main character makes a wish, and then it gets granted, and they are initially very happy about it, but later on realize that it had unforeseen consequences that make their life much harder to live in, eventually culminating in them trying to undo their wish? there is a reason that trope is so common. negative attributes can be beneficial to your system depending on how you respond to them, even something like a lack of food can lead to good things that wouldn't have otherwise been possible without that negative attribute. you need to think in the long term to understand this stuff. it's never as simple as it appears. speaking of which...

i think the source of much of our disagreements might be in that you might not appreciate the value of limitations and disadvantages. that might be because you were made fun of for being imperfect, but please believe me when i say that here, imperfection is celebrated. maybe not always in the same ways, and we definitely all have different opinions on what aspects are worth celebrating vs condemning (see the discussions about women above, but it really isn't as simple as "woman bad", it's just that the end result once you've experienced the kind of stuff most of us know about is "woman bad" pretty much.) but we definitely prefer imperfection and individualism here to most of the other shit you've probably seen elsewhere. get it out of your head that being bad at something makes you bad, often times it can make you even better, you just need to view it in the right way.
