yeah youtube's compression really sucks. It was really bad during kson's live, because she had very dynamic camera movements and lighting. Presentation-wise the most impressive VTuber live I've seen this year, but it was the same studio that did a some of the big Kizuna Ai events, so they definitely know what they are doing.

But tech wise it definitely feels kinda lack luster to me, as someone who got into VTubing through interest in the technology. They don't really utilize colors well and lighting is kinda non-existent. And somehow it feels like they did better in the past or I'm misremembering.
There's also issues where the models don't feel very grounded into the scene sometimes because they seem mostly unlit.

But the most important part is that fans have fun, and catalogfags seething is generally a good sign.

Last year's NijiU had 187k peak and, with over 6mil vod views on each part, and the change to the Nijisanji main channel, everyone was certain NIJIU22 would get more viewers.
Maybe even 300k+, to match Koshien.
With how many people ditched the lower quality YT stream for B2 and NND, that was probably the full amount.

The thing that makes # always so angry is HOW all these viewers just materialize out of nowhere for events, and then disappear.
At most 10k remaining for other Niji streams after. Today, all 10k going to the RTAinJapan stream instead. But where's the rest of the 300k??

Holobox being as dedicated as they are is unusual viewer behaviour, but we've seen the fuckers that buy Holomerch, seems more reasonable than this bullshit.
