The issue isn't the idea that she can have a break, it's that she's had like.. ten such breaks already this year and we can see her streaming output fall down a cliff overall.

Also this whole thing with fake enthusiasm acting like she really-really wants to stream but fate is intervening is a pretty tough sell vs just outright saying "yeah I don't feel like it right now sorry." The thing is people would get mad at her for saying that probably about equally as mad as a probably-fake undescribed illness.

However, from her cryptic descriptions it sounds like something she does consider real/tangible and she doesn't wanna talk about it because we'd "get the wrong idea" and something she needs to tackle/get over with it seems. Which makes me think the rehab rrat could actually have some legs to it as an explanation. She was known in the past to drink and take various meds for depression, maybe she developed a habit - forming some kind of addiction does hugely interfere with your ability to hold down and conduct a normal job, which is how many homeless lost their jobs and became that way. So if her skipping out on work a lot isn't laziness but some other problem maybe it's that.

Being a top EN has to be a mentally tough on a person who already is abnormal to be doing what she does. JPs have a million others and an entire support structure, an office where they go to do irl stuff, idol culture where they can physically see the brand around them and have something tangible

EN your entire world is online and you step out of the house and it all poofs into nothing. Not to mention you have to actively keep your identity secret and live knowing people could be trying to track you.

None of this shit is healthy, as a streamer or as the audience. Maybe it all came too early and society could be better outfitted for this niche in the future.

I just can't buy this. As someone who is neither a woman nor mentally ill, I can't understand how a work-from-home job at your own schedule where you make more than MBA graduates can be so much that you have to take a literal week+ off at a time, frequently every other month.
If she was a 3D tuber being sexually harassed or having to whore herself, maybe. If Cover actually put stipulations FORCING them to stream 3+ times a week, maybe. If she had to do multiple merch and product shilling streams regularly to make ends meet, maybe. But this job is essentially showing up, acting like an autistic child, and collecting a DINK-tier income.
She also says that when she doesn't stream, she logs off and goes outside, for days at a time, thus also reducing the believability that she's constantly attached to work and under assault by pedophiles and schizos, or even that she's the 'quirky shut-in weirdo autistic girl just like u huHUha' that is her image.

I basically don't even watch her anymore between her lack of consistency and terrible stream variety. Sorry Goobs.

I don't think she is actually into gaming that much aside from a few very specific genres, I also think she is too lazy to make projects the centerpoint of her streaming even though she would likely be pretty good at doing something like a news show with skits or a regular podcast. I think with the perms situation and that taken into account, she just genuinely is not passionate about streaming anymore, she even complains about Karaoke these days because they have a limited selection and have to use karafun.

Short of the perms situation getting unfucked on the EN side or her finding the motivation to make a massive change in her content and put some effort into regular event streams I cannot see her being consistently motivated again. She claims to still be passionate about the behind the scenes stuff, 3d lives, appearances in others 3d lives and song recordings (2 in dec btw) so maybe that kind of stuff will be enough to keep her in hololive but if not I expect her to not renew her contract for next year.

I feel the most likely explanation is that cover having so many restrictions and red tape adds to her overthinking and stressing over everything to the point of burning out. She has a ton of fans that constantly will say she is the reason they keep going ect, add this to her wanting to do things like release a daki ect for them and cover constantly fucking it up/delaying shit and it's probably extreme stress.

Does it need to be? No, she legitimately could just fall into a simple schedule of streaming like three days a week for 3-4 hours each and be perfectly fine for as long as she wanted to stay in hololive. She could legitimately say fuck personal projects, fuck dealing with the red tape ect and just jump from fotm to fotm while making insane money.

Setting aside how sincere Gura's health issues, if she's doing it because she's burned out or because she's having daily orgies with 50 people or whatever else.
You have to be pretty sheltered and callous to not appreciate how this line of work can be extremely taxing, especially when it's a person as relatively famous as Gura.
You're under intense scrutiny by legions of people, many of whom would flip a tit if their illusion of a perpetually happy and seiso GFE is challenged.
You're doing a lot of work outside of just streaming. (training, preparing for events, merchandising, inevitable corporate tension)
You're forced to maintain a marketable image at all time.
You are bombarded to hell and back by ridiculously hateful messages and gossip regardless of how relevant it is. (and for anyone who's not obscenely secure of themselves or is very mentally balanced a nasty comment has much more affect than even a hundred positive but generic comments)
You have to deal with self doubts like "when is the bubble going to pop?", "am I really going to be able to get away with it all my life?", "Will I ever be revealed to be the imposter I feel I am" and the likes.
It no doubt presents a challenge to social life. (Like if a chuuba, not necessarily Gura, tries dating she risks being exposed by a butthurt ex, have trouble finding someone who doesn't think it's cringe, have trouble finding someone who isn't just a mindless fan, and so on)

Frankly I don't think I'd be able to do that for long even if by some miracle I could guarantee perfect opsec, it's extremely stressful.
Not to mention stress doesn't have to come from working more than the "average person".
Stress, depression and anxiety comes from fear, fear you're not doing enough, or not doing well enough, or what have you.
Even someone who has "comfortable" working hours can be extremely stressed and neurotic if they're invested in what they're doing or if they're not as invested as they feel they should be.
And that's not to mention that being a NEET is an absolute petri dish for anxiety and depression, while strictly speaking a professional Vtuber isn't a NEET they do share a lot of traits with them, traits which are exactly what germinates these issues, like not leaving the house much, living in front of a computer, having minimal social interactions and so on.
NEETs should supposedly have the least stressful lives out there, but they're generally horribly depressed exactly because of their situation.

Her work has precisely all the components for these sort of issues, and even if it didn't, the benchmark for mental well being is how you FEEL, not what you experience and if you "deserve" being treated for it or not.
If you feel bad and overwhelmed, it's a problem that needs and DESERVES to be addressed, no matter what led up to it.

Thank you for reading my blog.

Traveling is difficult for her and I think she likes to get it all done at once. For that reason, if she ever travels abroad, she would most likely do it right before having to travel for work related reasons such as the Myth off-collab. Myth is going to Japan and will all be there next week, so she may have gone somewhere else first while she's out traveling.

In mid June, right before the Myth off colab, she didn't want to show her Minecraft f12 info because she thought it would show something revealing, even though she did it literally the week before and realized it doesn't. That combined with her weird audio set up and the fact that all her Minecraft textures were all uninstalled, made many chumbuds think she was at a totally different computer. A couple days later she did the WWE stream where she posted a strawpoll that said it was created from a Swedish IP address. A few days after that was the Myth off-collab.

I don't know if it's a bunch of coincidences, or what happened, but I never stopped thinking about it.

It is certainly possible, in my opinion it requires a lot more strained logic than the obvious simplest solution which explains both why she retracted it in the first place and also abandoned her plans to put live polls on stream.

You have to accept that she was using a vpn to stream, AND that the vpn defaults to that particular country (I use nordvpn and the autoconnect feature by default simply uses the fastest server closest to your position)
Then you also have to accept that even though she was both using a vpn and it defaulted to that country(that you say she was not in), that she was so concerned about it that she changed her plans midstream and made an excuse about the website not functioning.

Hold up a glass of water, is not hard.

Now keep holding the glass of water for 18 hours a day continously. It's impossible. Something can be simple and very taxing at the same time.

The issue with streamers and youtubers is that they have to live thinking about streaming every minute of the day even when not streaming. Always thinking of content. Always worrying about what the other streamers are doing. Always worrying about what your audience thinks.
In a regular job you leave after the 9-5 and can vegetate afterwards.

It's more like a stressful family environment, if you have crazy helicopter asian parents who are always watching you, you know how good it feels when they are not around. But instead of that, it's management and your fans, while you also gotta compete with your siblings (genmates) for approval.

We don't know if Gura was at Ame's place on the 15th. In fact, there's nothing to indicate that at all. The WWE stream was on the 15th and the first time we were sure that Gura was with Ame was on the 20th during her birthday stream. It's possible she flew there and then to California to meet up with the girls afterwords.
Like I said previously, traveling is difficult for her and so if she wanted to visit there, the perfect time would have been right before she had to travel for the off collab.
It's possible she had a friend make the poll, but I think it's more likely that she really was there.

>We don't know if Gura was at Ame's place on the 15th
I didn't say she was, I'm pointing out that the timing is pretty damn tight
>It's possible she flew there and then to California to meet up with the girls afterwords
The issue here is that if she was at Sweden that'd leave her effectively 3 days(12 hrs travel time minimum, assuming a flight was avaliable) to get to California with no problems, I doubt Gura is that good of a travel planner when she messes everything else up.

NTA. I'm responding because you seem to be fair in your arguments.
She did do the unarchived 4 million subs stream on the 16th (https://holodex.net/watch/onN6jLXrUZY).).
And then she did the birthday countdown stream on the 19th. That would give her two days to travel internationally and set up a new stream environment, which while possible, seems unlikely that she could do it that quickly.

She definitely was in California for the stream on the 19th (https://holodex.net/watch/u7EWIbzTKAY)) because that stream started at 8:00 PM EST and ended at 10:43 PM EST.
The amesame karaoke on the 20th (https://holodex.net/watch/oTcuzkiU-XE)) started at 12:51 AM EST, and it would have been impossible for Gura to have traveled from the East coast to the West Coast in only 2 hours.

>> No.39760688

>>39759858
I agree with what you said. While not technically impossible, it seems unlikely that she was really there because of the short time window. I think it's a case of a friend helping her set up the poll and not realizing it gave their location away. I'm not really sure how else to explain what happened.

>> No.39760819

I wish we could just ask her about why it said the poll was created from Sweden. But I have a feeling that she would never answer that question in a million years.

I agree that window does seem very tight, I will probably always have some confusion (and paranoia) about what exactly happened in the wwe stream but maybe as this anon said >>39760688 it was set up by another party and that is the explanation rather than the travelling theory.

The one thing I'll say is: if she really was there on the 15th and the strawpoll was her, then if I were Gura, I would never ever stream while I was traveling again. In fact, If I were to ever travel again, I'd probably request a break for health reasons so that I wouldn't have to stream from a different location...
