The only reason /meat/ is still here as a nation is because they were here from the start. Double standards and all that, I'm afraid. I don't like it either, but it is what it is. since they were threads that existed for a significant time, with quite a lot of cross pollination because they are fetish threads their culture would still technically be alive. And even if any /meat/ threads would get deleted by jannies almost instantly they are still actively trying to make new threads, which I don't think /feet/ and /ringo/ does as frequently. It's not really a double standard if you consider that.

/feet/ died out naturally as many other threads did, there might be parts in different nations that can be traced back to /feet/ but as a nation they are gone long before the janny attack. /ag/, /ringo/, /become/ and /meat/ are being attacked by jannies and each seem to try to survive at least to some degree despite that.
That is the difference in how they should be treated.

>> No.39137146

>>39136800
Yes, threads that use stealth OPs to try and stay alive for as long as possible, and still get deleted most of the time. Apparently you even get bumped off on /trash/. That in my opinion is less envocative of a nation that can hold it's own and more of a remnants of a cult holding on to past glory, trying to survive by any means necessary. A nation in ruin, if you will.
>>39136817
Yes, and I see no reason not to hold /meat/ to the same standard as those generals. Call it an oppurtunity to take their lore in a new, unexplored direction.

Baseline is, I have absolutely no problem with /meat/, /ringo/ or whatever other past general that is now either gone or struggling to gain a footing having their culture represented on Vitubia, but I don't think they should be considered full on nations, more like remnants, scattered groups or tribes that still hold onto "old" ways. Kindred did a similar thing a while back, with the pregnancy cult. Not everything has to be a nation.

>> No.39137243

>>39137092
Yes, footfags exist but they don't have an identity like lamys, architects, ringos, or /meat/heads do.
So would it make sense to use /horni/'s general chuubanite in order to focus down on the concept of feet to create effects that allow someone incredibly durable feet that allow them to run long distances without negative effects?

>> No.39137484

>>39136971
nta, but i think he was just saying that /meat/ is more active than /ringo/, which isn't the same as suggesting that they don't deserve to be here.
>>39137146
which nation do you represent? /trash/ apparently has some retard who spams bait threads to kill ones he dislikes randomly, and jannies send threads over there randomly, too. our threads on /vt/ last long enough to have an impact. when did we say we our threads had to never die or get banned to be counted as nations here? maybe they are nations in turmoil, but as long as there are threads, there is land in the name of it's culture.

>> No.39137554

>>39137146
If we push for that than we'd also need to look at how other generals interact with each other and if we're actually being accurate to how they behave.
Most holo generals are viciously antagonistic towards most nijis, /risu/ is a xenophobic hell hole whose xenophobia is actively downplayed because OG thought it would just be more fun not to do that, some generals have literally no reason to have the agreements or wars that they do.
Are we also going to sort through them?

>but as long as there are threads, there is land in the name of it's culture.
So going by that example, if I were to occasionally make a pic dump /nasa/, we would exist on Vitubia as a nation?
>>39137554
Well, yes, I would personally like it if some stuck a bit more to what their threads actually are like instead of just larping their perfect nation. There is still a lot of wiggle room even they did that. Hell, if they are active posters in said threads, why not strive to develop its culture? There are plenty of threads that are for the most part just pic dumps, and I'm sure anons in there would be fine with discussing stuff sometimes.

That, I feel, would be the best course of action yes. While they cannot support full on nations, that doesn't mean their culture is gone, and can be represented in other ways. It's the same with Sanallites, while /nasa/ might not exist anymore, many of them found refuge in /cope/ and make a large part of posts in there. So while their nation is gone, their culture isn't.

I second this notion. I'll use /risu/ as an example, because it's the most obvious one, but this should be for everyone to consider. If it really is as xenophobic as OG himself has said multiple times in the past, that should be reflected in lore. They don't have to(and frankly can't at this point) make a 180, but some representation would be nice.

I don't think this would really be an effective way of starting or getting the discussion going since most writers would rightly prefer to try and workshop their lore privately rather than do a Pomerlane esque, "I have been writing my own thing that's not really related to /vt/". That and some fans don't have very visible and distinct identites so the writers just do their own thing, I don't think a seeming lack if identity on vt is an excuse to write whatever but it can mix with other ideas that act as a decent basis for representing a thread.

Ultimately, we're mostly relying in you to write based on your own thread info since we most of us don't watch your chuubas. I think it mostly comes down to whether you personally think the liberties you take were due to creating something that acts in cohesion to whatever you could take from your thread and their chuubas or if it was just something you personally thought was cool, a combination of both is fine but if your chuubas don't have really outlandish personalities and your fanbase is small and plain, I don't see what's been written for vnug so far as very egregious and contradictory.

As for fitting lore, the only real way would be to know your thread. What are you about, what the posters usually talk about, how's the general atmosphere? Once you have that set in stone, you can then add your own finishing touches. Creativity is great, but you need a base for it first.

Deadbeats being almost always in conflict can connect to their always being baited and used for yab posts, which can justify the Black Fleet as a naval force meant to combat increasing schizo attacks.
I think you can do this with every nation, even if the concept is something as loose as "winter based chuuba" that can justify deriving from any assortment of cultures known to endure in harsh weather conditions.

Thank you. Don't worry about me too much. With that said...
Raising /hag/'s general altitude to 400-800m should not cause very significant changes, but the effect is still noticeable. The thing about high altitude is that it cools down places at a rather convenient rate of 1°C per 100m, so the rising would put the region 2-6°C colder than it currently is. As a result, I expect that the climate zones will expand further north (Dfa to Dfb, and Dfb to Dfc), primarily for the taller places. 800m is about the point where rain shadow effect might become significant enough to matter, although /hag/'s position makes it likely negligible on a macro level due to the direction of the prevailing wind in that latitude, and the semi-permanent high pressure zone generated by /uoh/.
In terms of biome, currently the majority of /hag/ is likely a mixture of grassland and forest. In warmer places, the higher latitude will make conifers more prominent than broadleaves, but the change is otherwise not significant. Some grassland might become more wooded since the lower temperature allows the environment to retain more water for tree growth. On the other hand, highlands in the south might become too cold to support tree germination at all, in which case it might become alpine meadows and moorland.

Meppa, my love! Thank you so much, can't wait to see it.

As for this debate about fitting the thread, I think that some of you are thinking too narrowly about this. If we went narrow, this project would be incredibly boring for many and that's not what its about in my opinion. This is a project for fun at the end of the day, and if we are having fun, even if things are not completely on target, then there is no issue. For example, I would never have the opportunity of hiring V7 to do some fun things because V7 as a thread isn't some secret agency or anything. Zeta might be, but even then what is the point of hiring them to asssassiante someone unless we just want all of our villains to be from numbers or just schizos. It's not fun for me like that, and I wouldn't be part of this project if it was so rigid.

Of course there has to be some leeway. V7 as a nation playing on Zeta's lore is still well within reason as we already established that people can draw from the things that a thread is about. I feel like the narrowness is actually what makes the best and most interesting ideas blossom and differentiates vtwbg from other worldbuilding projects, allowing everyone to do whatever comes after a concrete foundation that other people and posters from threads can then join and work with. Doing your own thing isolates the nation from other posters in same thread so whatever idea or thread concept you make for a nation should be built from the concept of the thread rather than just what interests you.
That and if threads just start writing whatever they want, we'd get kicked off the board for being off topic. It's something other anons already think and playing into that would kill the project.

Since when is 2434 misogynistic? Is that canon or are we just making things up because they aren't fitting your image since I don't really see traditional society as misogynistic bro. Not to mention, there is far more nuance than that in their lore in my opinion than "Woman bad, man good." Let's not also forget the manjisanji joke kek.

As for Risu, that's fair enough. OG sort of has taken another approach and i somewhat agree that the treerrats are too friendly considering how they actually act, but I think there have been efforts to change that.

I don't know what the other points are. Are you proposing that meat get removed from the map technically? It would be interesting but its up to them too.

Tbh, at least some knowledge of your thread's culture and it's relation with other fanbases is heavily implied with that this project is. If a complete newfag started writing for a thread without any prior knowledge of it, can that really be considered lore that represents it? And if you need to do some archive reps every so often, well that's just research like any other.

Also, let's not make this a "we vs them" situation please, as much as I would enjoy the drama. I got a map to draw and a rrat to watch, so I can't follow it to make sarcastic remarks every so often.

Yellow woman here, just stopping in before I got play in the snow more. Regarding this misogyny stuff and not fitting. I am allowed to interpret how a thread/company would fit into a given era and I chose that because that's how I like to think of things. When we did our national rework, we did a lot of study into japan and china, and that's where this comes from but its not nearly as bad as is being said either. Note that whether you think it or not, my own opinions are not inserted into my lore regarding modern contemporary situations at all and you have the wrote impression of me if you think I do that. I really don't have this wrote down, so I cannot regard everything I have said about this as perfect sealed canon when I have hardly thought of it!

There is nothing wrong with either method, and you can disagree with me, but remember that not everyone is going to have the same interpretation of how we should handle things and personally, a bit of difference is good. Let the writer have a bit of freedom while also fitting the concepts they made. I am honestly disappointed that out of all of the lore I have wrote, including my lore document, that the biggest takeaway is gender roles that haven't even been formally defined. It feels disrespectful to both myself and emma that is what gets remembered about our lore the most. Please have fun, share love and write good lore! <3

Basically, I am planning on having the 50 odd survivors of /nasa/ eventually end up in /inf/, where they would make a new life for themselves. Mostly women and children. They don't have much with them, but they do have cooking recipes, and most of the adults are either expert cooks/bakers or doctors. Would you be ok with us establishing a chain of restaurants and bakeries in /inf/ and eventually over the entire world? I'd let bread dog write about them, it will give him something to work on. At least they found a new home. That said you may want to hold off on the chain restauraunt idea until /inf/ can figure out their land reclaimation plans for farming. Many of /nasa/'s pastries and breads require modern synthesized ingredients like baking soda. We also lost the ability to synthesize many of those ingredients. Vanilla sweets is simply impossible now.

That said if /inf/ has fruits, milk, and sweet tubers like carrots or sweet potatoes then we can come up with recipes for pies and cakes. Our menu will be limited by what /inf/ can produce. Which we'll need to talk to a Kronie. I spoke about land reclaimation before by mining out soil from under volcanic ash.

A good /nasa/ baker would learn how to use ingredients they never used before. There's cooking from a recipe book and then there's cooking with what you know. /nasa/ survivors will experiment with local ingredients to see what they come up with.

That said survivors are more than cooks. There are doctors, smiths, engineers, physicists, botanists, and other trades necessary for space travel. The botanists will help the land reclaimation project by analyzing the soil. Though Sanalites will not have modern instruments. So they have to reinvent their tools.

We don't want us to be the potential answer for any problem clocks might have. Also remember that at most, there will be like 20ish adults, with the rest being kids or teenagers. AND they would be starting from basically 0, in a foreign land. I don't expect them to be noticed by anything higher than local middle management at most, much less be involved in any national projects, at least at the start.
Think of this as developing a family company, as that's what it essentially would be.

Artificial /hag/s? What a concept... So the hags would have been some kind of homunculus to start? Interesting! I think cloning magitech should be within reach of pre-/vt/ societies. They wouldn't work after the split, like most /jp/ era technology, but enough artificial hags could already exist for them to form a significant part of the population after the split.
Oh, is the pillar in the middle of the ocean (one of the star tips) a /jp/-era structure? That would explain its construction, and also why it's a particularly magical place.

Well i was thinking, if all Hololive nations are connected because of /hlgg/ and all Nijisanji nations are connected because of /2434/. Then what would connect the fetish nations? And i thought maybe it was all some place of decadence created by the other nations back then for pleasure and excess. and hags are very fertile and grow quicker and birth mostly girls because that is how they were made to fulfill the hag fantasy of people. The next part of history would be a civil war between men that have grown to respect the hags and those that consider themselves being masters by right of birth, with the latter losing and the former creating what would be the Hagu of today. And those people would not want future generations to know of this origin so no one can mistreat the hags ever again because of that and thus have destroyed all records of that time and this origin.

I see, some kind of trans-imperial degeneracy project! Checks out. All good too-powerful empires need to have some degeneracy. Nice civil war setup too, fighting for the right to respect the /hags/ sounds like a worthy cause. Maybe there's some kind of evil, secret, but impotent cult in /hag/ society, they'd be the people trying to decipher those ancient records while proper /hag/ does its best to suppress them and destroy the records. I don't think we have such a cult because after the war, everyone agreed to destroy all records of that time. I also did not really think about what exactly the gate does. I only had the idea of a big and long staircase going around the pillar up, but actually there is a cargo lift hidden that people from the temple use and the stairs are just for visitors or to play pranks on new apprentices since it seems mystical and important to take the steps up the gate.

After reading /hag/ lore, the antediluvian history of them being artifically bred for the entertainment and decadence of large powers actually lines up well with /uoh/'s current lore.
Both have implications of artificial selection/breeding and they are both side-by-side.
My theory is that in /jp/ times the same method and techniques were used for making hags and lolis. One focused on youth while the other is maturity.
Post-split, both communities dealt with the artificially bred differently.
/hag/ overthrew their masters while /uoh/ doubled down on the human zoo trope.
While /jp/ artificial biology is long gone, chuubanite became the new substitute. The conceptual powers of the respective hag and loli chuubas allow for the bloodlines to not deteriorate even after centuries.
