I think at this point, the reason for a whole lot of delays in debuts is because they want to use or put the newer gens into HoloEarth as their own characters along with stories. I would assume Cover would invest a lot into animation projects for both JP 7 and EN 3 or cheaper mangas.

Gacha and combat system on top of open world mechanics are probably the reason why people come back to the game every once in a while despite the game being shit. For HoloEarth, a talent would explore their own story and that alone, would invite thousands of people to join in. At first I thought HoloEarth was going to be Genshit Impact but with a Hololive skin and ingame related events, like concerts in the main hub or meet and greets. Cover has an extremely strong IP in Japan, something like that if succesful would've been fucking huge, their next step when trying to grow and actually reach the global mainstream market.
Instead it seems like a Rust clone with a Holo skin and some Playstation Home hub where you can watch concerts. It's something done for hardcore Holo fans and that's it.

I agree, talent cosmetics shouldn't be gacha. They should have a base price depending on their rarity and all or just items you can receive from quests. There's also emotes or animations from your character like holding up a lightstick for a concert. The real gacha should be the more uncommon ones that has a lot of effort put into it, like custom dancing animations, a mount or generally shiny stuff where you can brag to people but doesn't have an overall impact to stats or power creep of the game. All in all, I think HoloEarth would do good.
