The great thing about Azur Lane is that you can get 2 collab characters for free just by playing the event. The other characters you can get from the gacha but the game is pretty generous with gacha currency as long as you play daily and do your daily missions. I only casually played during the Atelier Ryza collab these past 2 weeks and managed to get every collab girl by grinding a bit on the last day. Side note but damn that was arguably the best collab in the game so far. The event bgm was lovely. Kale Ideas best girl btw.
