do you guys ever just put on an indie tuber stream even if you're not that interested in watching, just to give them an additional viewer? is this kind or is this cruel?

the fact that they are in the game means they must accept that the market can be fucking cold to anyone who doesn't get a decent foothold.

Also, smaller vtubers will surely respond to you. That makes the experience much more personal and fulfilling than being in the noisy chat of hololivers.

there's a time where I found a chuuba with 0 viewers. so it's basically only me watching her playing minecraft. I turned on all devices I have (total 4), log ini with diffrent accounts, and constantly jumping accounts and make comments. at that time I hope I have a friend for help.
I still remember how she greets all 4 of me and introducing herself. while playing she talked abt her school days, how she like natto, how her mother buy her a new cardigan that day, and her dream to collabing with Suisei and singing together one day (which she said is silly dream, but the 4 me assure her that it's fine to have a big dream, and there's nothing impossible).her channel has grown a bit since then. i also saving some money to akasupa whenever she got the monetization.
but then months ago she said she want to focus studying for entering college, and will stop from streaming for a moment.
she haven't shown up on twitter nor youtube since then

No I don't do this and I also don't feel bad for these failures that stream for months and months and get nowhere. Being an online entertainer is a high risk job with pretty much zero chances of success, and people know that when they decide to start. It's not like they went and got educated and are working a real job either, they're just trying to maintain the laziest lifestyle possible where they can remain as useless dysfunctional neets but get paid for it.
I'd much rather buy something from a street peddler than donate to a streamer, even if I have no need for what I'm being sold. One of them has lived a hard life due to circumstances and is still trying to make the best of it, while the other doesn't even have the willpower to improve their life so they make a hail mary play and pretend to be a cute anime girl so lonely morons will fund them.

No. Almost everyone has to work a real job to get by and can't just play video games pretending to be an anime character. Shit, most of hololive and nijisanji worked a real job and only did vtubing part time until they became successful. It is like those teenage who drop out of school and don't work because they think they can become a pro gamer like ninja and tyler1.

Once recommended an autistic tank fangirl vtuber called "隠し要塞のオリエンタ・トーゼ" in a Girls und Panzer thread on /a/.

She had already been posting World of Tanks videos and streams on a near daily basis for a year at the time, but was still pulling less than 10 views per video.

When I recommended her, her sub count went up by like 20 in a day due to peoples pity, which according to analytics was the fastest sub growth the channel had ever experienced. Channels doing better now though; still posts videos daily, but now gets over 50 views per video and has over 1000 subs.

Yeah, they will never get lol "big", but most of them are in it because they genuinely like streaming and interaction with viewers and don't give seriously crap about numbers.
