She's at her best when the game doesn't cooperate with her so she can pretend to blame the game and chat for everything that goes wrong, and just go crazy with the comedy. As bad as Sunshine is though, Mario 64 is a lot more buggy and could lead to some more serious rage moments, which are not nearly as fun. So I hope she takes some time before she tries that.

Some of it is just that it's Nintendo's first 3-D Mario offering, and it's still a good game. There is seriously a lot of stuff that can go wrong in that game though, and the camera is notoriously terrible.

I agree. I am someone who rather than having her being my number one streamer, just really enjoys her streams for the last few months and tries to keep up with them as much as they can. But the 3-D Marios tend to blend together after a while. Mario 64 isn't really as boring as Sunshine, but you're right it's too soon. She's had some good picks lately though, so I'm confident her schedule will reflect that.

SM64 is one of the kings of jank. SM64 has so much jank that going from a newbie to a high-level player is almost entirely learning to manipulate the jank in your favor. And on top of the normal jank, 3DAS introduces new jank and is also based on the second worst release of the game. If they weren't reliant on Nintendo permissions I'd almost say just emulate a ROMHack with better textures and pretend it's the 3DAS version.

I love Sunshine too. The world of the game is incredibly well done, with the levels feeling highly distinct but still fitting with the theme, and the gameplay is highly imaginative. Amazing music too. I really wish Nintendo had gone much further with the remaster though and addressed criticisms with the game so people could appreciate it more. Tracking your blue coin progress per level and giving you a way to detect missing ones would have been a nice addition for example.
