Twap really was cute today (yesterday)...hearing her talk about all the fun memories from the tournament was really great. I decided to summarize pretty much all of what she talked about today because it was a really great retrospective on the tournament and her time with Bora and Selly, so it's going to be really long. She jumps around topics a lot, so there's a lot of seemingly random segues and short topics she talked about only briefly.

She thanked everyone for supporting her during the last week.

She started off by talking about her character mispick in the first round. It seems they were all in the training area right before the scrims started, and the last character she chose while there was Lifeline, which is why it auto-selected it at the start of the next round.
It shocked her so much once she realized what happened that she felt sick.

She talked about how it's sometimes difficult to connect with people outside of hololive, because usually you only get 1 or 2 hours of interactions during collabs. She doesn't really have the same opportunities to just casually chat with them as she does with the people in hololive since they're typically not around in the same places.
During this CR Cup though, she had the chance to stream and chat a lot with Bora, and she realized that they're really similar and that they get along really well.
Towa said she thinks they have similar thoughts on how to approach streaming, like trying to prioritize having an enjoyable environment for the stream (Towa talks a lot about how she won't stream if she's in a bad mood because it will just end up ruining the mood of the viewers), and focusing on the things that are important to you, while also making sure those around you have fun as well.

She talked with Ojiji (CR owner) before they had selected teams for the tournament about who would be participating, and who she might be able to join a team with. She told him she wanted to participate, and ideally she wanted to be on a team with 2 females and 1 male. When Ojiji heard that, he suggested a bunch of players she could team with, but Towa had never interacted with any of them before, so she was kind of hesitant to ask any of them. She figured the male teammate would somewhat inevitably be someone who she hadn't met before, but she would prefer the female to be someone she knew if possible.
Since CR Cup is a really difficult tournament, she wanted to play with a team who she knew wouldn't get angry at her if she made mistakes, and could give her proper critiques if she did something wrong, so she was really worried about joining with people who she had never met before. That's why she chose Nose as her teammate in the previous CR Cup, because she knew no matter what, they would be able to get along.
In the end, she told Ojiji she would like to team with Bora if possible, so Ojiji contacted Bora, and when Bora responded, she was really glad that Towa reached out to her and said that of course she could join.

Because of the point limit this time, they weren't able to pick someone like Mondo and Ras because both speak Japanese too well for the language barrier rule to apply to them, so since Bora is able to speak Korean and translate, they thought Selly would be a good choice, and when they asked, he agreed to join.

Towa said the initial impression she got of Selly was that he was kind of cold, when they were talking about what characters they should play, he was kind of just like "play whatever you want", and when they asked about playing certain characters, he said stuff like "anything is fine" without giving much input, so she ended up being a little scared of him at the start and wondered if everything would turn out alright, especially with the language barrier and Bora having to interpret between them.
Towa was really worried about the mood of the team, so she ended up researching a bunch of Korean FPS terms and basic phrases before they played together.

Towa was having trouble playing Gib at the start, and she considered changing characters. Bora didn't want Towa to be discouraged by mean comments from people complaining about her play, so she told her she should play whatever she wanted and it was more important to her that Towa and Selly were having fun than anything else, even more important than winning.
Bora was saying things like that from the very start and throughout the whole tournament, and it made Towa think she was a really good person.
It was also really important to Towa that they all had fun together, which is why she made an effort to learn some Korean so she would be able to participate, even if just a little, with Selly and Bora in Korean.
She thought it was impossible for her to match them with regards to skill, so the best thing she could do was focus on making a good atmosphere for the team.

As they talked more and more, Towa and Bora started to realize that Selly actually knew a surprising amount of Japanese, and wondered where he learned all these words and phrases.
When they asked him if he had been studying Japanese, he said "just a little". Towa was really happy when she realized he was also working on studying behind the scenes. He was able to give orders and have basic conversations in Japanese, one of her favorite times was when he said "This is the champion position!", her and Bora would quote this line a lot when playing together.
Bora and her also talked a lot about their game play, like what they should have done instead after a loss, or that it would have been better to do a different play at certain parts.

She talked about some of the negative comments they got during the streams, but basically she said she just blocks them, and told the viewers that like always, they shouldn't pay attention to them and just to block and ignore.
Selly told them that he was worried about blocking the negative commenters in his chat because he didn't want them to go to Towa or Bora's chat instead, but they told him not to worry about it and to just block them and they'll handle it.

Towa thought the best part of the team was how nobody ever blamed anyone else if they lost, they would all just say "let's do our best on the next one".
She thought it was a really kind team, and that attitude helped her grow a lot during the tournament.

When the tournament was over, all 3 of them talked about playing other games besides Apex together.
They're still deciding on games that they're able to play with 3 people, she mentioned that Selly liked Battle Royale games, so maybe one of those, though they're also considering other stuff.

She brought up the Selly OW situation again, when she talked about it on stream, people were like "Towa, you can't mentioned OW around Selly!".
She apologized to him and said she really knew nothing about it, but he said it was totally fine and not to worry about it.

There's a lot more tournaments in May that Selly has to participate in, so he doesn't really have time to play anything with them right now, but he promised he would play with them once he has time between tournaments.
Once he's free, YumeKyawa will get back together.

After the tournament was over, Towa asked if they liked drawing. Selly said he was no good at it, but Bora was good and Towa said her drawings were cute.
They decided to draw that picture (https://twitter.com/tokoyamitowa/status/1393553058928336898)) after the tournament, and all sign it and say thanks.
Towa copied Bora's Korean, but Selly looked up the Japanese himself and wrote "Yumekiyawa Purple is the best!!" (he wrote や instead of ゃ, so kyawa turned into kiyawa). He also wrote "hamster".

After they drew the image, she talked with them about how she had a lot of fun learning Korean and asked about interesting things they know about in Korea.
They talked about amusement parks and how they were all scared of heights, and then started talking about how they all liked Disney and Ghibli.
Towa asked them about which Disney characters they liked, she told them she likes Duffy, Bora liked Rapunzel (Towa went off on a tangent here about how long ago the Disney Rapunzel movie came out, she thought it was around 4 years ago but it actually came out over 10 years ago...), and Selly liked Sugar Rush in general (Japanese name for 'Wreck-it Ralph') and likes Vanellope from it, but he said his favorite overall was Bambi. Towa thought it was a cute answer.
When Towa showed them a picture of Duffy, Bora said it was really cute, but Selly said it was scary and looked like a character out of a horror movie, Towa thought he was just saying it to tease her though.
When they talked about Ghibli, she mentioned a Ghibli art museum (I think the specific one she's talking about is 三鷹の森ジブリ美術館), at the entrance of it there's a big Totoro statue, she sent a picture of that to Bora and Selly.
Selly said Totoro was scary, and Bora also said she didn't really like Totoro because she read scary stories about it and ended up getting scared by them.
Towa thought it was super funny that she ended up getting scared by urban legends.

She didn't know the exact reason why Selly started crying after the stream was over (I guess Bora wasn't able to fully translate for her), but she said it was something like "Even though we didn't win, I really had a lot of fun. We were able to get a lot of champions and I was able to do a lot of kill moves, so it was really interesting and fun for me", and then Bora started crying too after he said that.

She talked about the part of the tournament where Bora and Selly fought a 2v3 in order to revive her, she watch a clip where they translated what they were saying in Korean (I can't find this clip, if anyone has it feel free to post it).
They were pretty much planning out what they would do, Selly said "I'll go up using a gravity lift, I'll throw an arc star, then we can attack from outside. After that we can revive Towa.", and Bora said "I'll follow you, you can count on me.".
There were actually 2 parties in the area, Cpt's party and a different one. Once the second party left, Selly said "Let's do it", they won the 2v3 and revived Towa, and then got the champion with the help of Towa's good domes.
After Towa got killed, Bora and Selly said "Sorry Towa, wait for a little bit".
She started getting emotional when talking about it, she said it's a moment she'll never forget, and there were a ton of other moments during this week that she'll always remember.
All the time they spent fooling around was really fun.
She said that at her current level, when she enters a tournament, it's pretty likely she will be near the bottom skill wise, so having the opportunity to fool around with some of the best players was a really good and interesting experience.
The time when Selly lied about there being enemies around was really funny too, she watched a lot of clips from this tournament.

She said that since Gib is such a difficult character to play, there will inevitably be comments about her play during their practice, but Bora kept telling Towa over and over not to pay attention to those comments, and that they'll tell her clearly if there's something she needs to work on.
Towa said she's the kind of person to blame herself for a lot of things, and is typically hard on herself, but Bora constantly reassuring her during the tournament really helped her.

They talked a bit after the tournament, she said she was able to have a lot of fun playing with them, she was able to practice Gib in order to help them and become better.
She really expect it to be a painful experience, because she knew she would get a lot of negative comments, and she thought it would be more fun to play as a character she wanted instead of Gib, but because she was playing with them, that wasn't the case at all.
They were gradually able to have conversations more and more easily, and because it was really interesting, practicing was a really enjoyable experience for her.
They were really helpful with teaching her Gib, they understood that she wasn't a pro, so they clearly explained what to do and showed her videos and things like that, so she was really able to learn a lot. She was also happy that they praised her a lot.

Because of all of that, and because the theme of this CR Cup was "Gratitude", she really wanted to express her gratitude to Bora and Selly in some way.
It was thanks to them that she was able to have so much fun during this tournament, so she asked Chigusa for help writing a letter to thank them in Korean.
The reason she didn't write it in Japanese is because she wanted Selly to be able to understand it as well, she wanted to convey her feelings to both of them directly, so she wrote it in Korean.
Chigusa was really helpful, she told Towa the meaning of all the parts and even explained the grammar, as well as the pronunciation.

She said because she was able to learn a little Korean, she feels her heart has opened a little bit.

After the tournament was over, she messaged Bora and Selly that she was lonely, and Selly asked "Why are you lonely?", Towa answered "Since it's over now", Selly said "True...", Towa asked "Aren't you lonely too?", and Selly answered "A little, I guess...". Bora said she was lonely too.

After the customs were over, Wokka sent her a message that said "Towa-sama is becoming way too good at Gibraltar.", she was really happy when she saw that.

She's glad when she's able to make people laugh by doing something herself, even if it's about her "weird voice". People watching her for the first time might have been really surprised by that voice, but she realized after thinking about it that she makes voices like that pretty often.

She thought it was really amazing that they got 3 back-to-back champions during customs.

She starting wonder again about what games they could play with 3 people, she was considering "Golf it!".

She had a lot of fun studying Korean, and learning Indonesian with Reine was interesting as well.

Towa thought it was really funny when Selly would say something to her in Japanese, then Bora would repeat the same exact Japanese back as if she was translating it. She thought Bora must have just been a little nervous, so she just repeated it without thinking.

During her collab with Reine, she realized something...her boobs are kind of small, aren't they? Compared to Reine...she was a little surprised.

When she was in her previous world, she really hated studying, so much so that her Mom would get mad at her. Since she's come to this world though, she's found it really fun and interested to learn words from various languages.

She talked about how Bora's Japanese is really good, Bora kept surprising her with all the phrases and terms she used during customs, she wondered why she would even know some of them.

She thought the "moving emotes" they did when they got their champion in the actual tournament was really funny, it was so disorganized and all of them just went off in separate directions, it was like they were all saying "goodbye" to each other and leaving.
She said her hands were shaking when she was trying to do the emote.

Someone sent a "red carpet" of superchats (5x¥10,000), when she saw the word "carpet" it reminded her of a story.
She has a bedroom and a streaming room, and she sometimes sleeps in different places, like she has a futon in the streaming room she can use to nap during the day. Kotaro was sleeping in the streaming room, and Towa was sleeping in the bedroom, and when she woke up and walked into the streaming room, she immediately smelled something really horrible.
She wondered what the smell was, and it turns out Kotaro had pooped...on the futon. It was also diarrhea.
She said it was seriously the worst, having to deal with that first thing in the morning.

Look, I was team VORUTO for a long time, and you can hold the poll again in a couple weeks if you want, but I feel like you'd be pretty hard pressed to say that any other team was as much fun to watch, as emotional, and left as much of a lasting impression as ゆめきゃわPURPLE. The other teams had their moments, but no other team really had the kind of experience of watching them build such a great bond over the week like they did, or watching Towa tangibly improve at Gib the way she did. The other teams were good and fun but this is the only one so far that I would call an unforgettable experience.

I think I've figured out the appeal of Towa. Towa appeals to the nostalgia of being a teenager, back when you had mixed gender friends and originally didn't really think about it too much. But as you got older you start realizing that they are girls, and you start to have difficulty hanging out with them because on one hand you still treat them as a friend but on the other hand your hormones are pushing you towards them and you're not too sure how to react. Maybe you drove them away because you didn't want to hurt them, maybe you tried to turn it into a real relationship but it just didn't work out. Whatever the reason, Towa represents the time before the secondary school drama got in the way, back when you could hang out with girls ant not have to worry about puberty, back when life was still innocent and friends were friends.

Selly used to be one of the top Overwatch players in the world but he never was able to mesh with teams properly. He played best when he was unrestrained and he allegedly got into an argument with C9's coach which caused him to be removed from the team and he ended up flying back to Korea after a month. He didn't have much luck with other teams and eventually switched to Apex where he did some competitive for a bit before semi-retiring again until he got picked up by CR. Probably a good chunk of his difficulty was language related given that C9 was a North American team. Honestly CR Ojiji is a bit of a genius to have gotten him into the tournament, and I'm glad that he seems to have had a good time with Towa and Bora.
