Probably not a lot, but that's for me personally I hate extreme mismatches and also not to be an asshole but a lot of ESL accents filter me. It really depends on how bad the accent is, even some JP streamers who do english streams filter me, it's mostly if it's understandable.

I'm a hardcore yume, and while I do think M/M pairings can be cute, they're not my thing. So feel free to take my opinions with a grain of salt.

1. I personally like the B option more, I love that character trope. My oshi is like that almost down to the letter.

2. I'd say your friend is correct. Usually people can easily tell when somebody's forcing their yume or fujo pandering. Some VTubers I watch don't do either of those things often, or at all, and still manage to attract both types of fans. As long as you have good natural charisma and energy with somebody, people will be drawn to that.

3. I personally don't mind accents, I can think they're quite sexy honestly. I guess I just wouldn't want one too thick, because then it gets hard for me to understand. As for a mismatched voice, ehh, I guess it could be considered a gap moe, they can be charming.

4. I'm indifferent to song covers, like sure they're nice, but they're not exactly a requirement. If that's what you wanna do, because you just really like to sing or that's how you want your path to go, I can support it. It takes a lot for me to consider any voice, speaking or singing, as "bad," but it's nice when somebody at least has some music knowledge and isn't completely belting out the wrong notes.

5. It's a pretty art style, I think both yumes and fujos could enjoy a design coming from this artist. I'm not sure where you got the idea from, but as long as a design is handsome/pretty enough, you'll find both types of audience.

6. As long as you're not one of those clickbait YouTubers who're like, "WHAT'S UP EVERYBODY WE'RE BACK WITH ANOTHER VIDEO LET'S SUMMON A GHOST AT 3AM" you should be fine. Maybe don't scream and shout every other sentence, or peak your mic, but high energy can be infectious. Don't force it either, if something excites you, show that excitement, but don't force a reaction just because you feel like you have to.

Archiving vtubers is my nightmare... 100tb of varied content in this house, but since getting into vtubers I've had to seriously consider the feasibility of mirroring their content. On the other hand, even just hand-picking select VODs is serious consideration with so much content to go through... and this is just a 1:1 parity, you can forget any sort of data redundancy with this shit. The ragtag.moe archive is an insane undertaking that deserves more support because no individual data hoarder can do this on their own unless they've got some serious disposable income and a neurotic dedication to data preservation. I'm a fujo.

1. Both, because A. is mostly Axel and B. with dashes of bratty kid and yandere is Altare, and those are my two oshis.

2. Appealing to fujos is more about being natural and doing things that let them imagine their own scenarios than it is about overtly hitting on men. If you stream with boys you have good chemistry with, you'll naturally say and do things that will spark their imaginations, even if you're being 100% seiso the whole time.

3. An accent is okay as long as you're easy to understand. Having a voice that matches the model is very important for the first impression though. I feel like you'll struggle a lot more initially if it's really mismatched.

4. The speaking voice is what you'll be hearing most of the time, so it's really the key, but having a decent singing voice certainly never hurts.

5. Depends more on what the character's interactions are like than the art style. That one could work for either.

6. Personally, I don't really like either extreme. I like a balanced guy that's generally more mellow but can get a bit worked up sometimes. Altare during the Pokemon stream yesterday was perfect, IMO.

Am fudanshi instead of fujoshi, hope it's alright to comment. Can't really say I'm much of a yume, either.

1. B, for me personally. A can also be fun, but it runs the risk of being annoying, and also of attracting people who want to nine inch nail you into submission. (See: the number of people who want to peg Vox Akuma. Which is respectable, because man needs to be milked like a cow.)

2. I personally enjoy nsfw content -- not even because I get off on it, because it tends to filter out annoying tiktok tweens by default -- but I think if someone is actually capable of being seiso full-time, and they want to do that, it's worthwhile. Shu Yamino is a good example of someone who doesn't really fujobait or do BFE and still has a ton of people shipping him with anyone that breathes in his direction.

3. I am a fan of Yugo Asuma (shut up,) so my tolerance is through the roof personally. Generally as long as someone is able to get their point across people are tolerant of even thick accents in my experience-- and they might fawn over you for it. I know every time I hear someone trying their best to communicate in a language they're not very fluent in, my heart absolutely melts for their efforts and I want to cheer them on.

4. I am personally very drawn to those who can sing and perform music, but if you aren't confident in those skills, trying to force it might wind up being detrimental. Make sure you get a good mixer, as well... bless Aster Arcadia's heart but his cover was nothing.

5. Tentatively gonna say fujos, but honestly the design is just the hook to get someone into the door. If you can entertain well, you will shine even as a pngtuber; conversely, even a fantastic design won't save someone who sucks the energy out of the room and has little to nothing to offer on their own merits.

6. It varies for me depending on who the person is. Alban Knox is delightful and I'd take a bullet for him, but sometimes his energy is so potent it genuinely makes me tired, same with Mysta Rias and Luca Kaneshiro. I think I personally tend to gravitate towards people who are a little more relaxed -- Fulgur Ovid, Ike Eveland, and depending on what personality has taken over for the day, Sonny Brisko. But consider that I'm on the upper end of the age range for vtuber fans somehow, so younger fans might enjoy a more upbeat streamer -- and more than anything what matters is what you bring to a stream. If you try to force yourself to be super genki when you're not, people will be able to tell; if you try to be calm and cool when you're a keet, it won't work. Playing a role is easy on the short term, but if you want to build a brand off of it that will sustain itself long-term? You're setting yourself up for burnout, imho.

Market research is all well and good, but authenticity will show through. If you try to target a niche you have no experience with or passion for, people will be able tot tell.

Not that anon, but what do you like in a streamer? I mostly watch english-speaking Nijisanji streamers, so I can try to give an overview of them from my personal opinion.

-If you like commentary/long gameplay, Fulgur Ovid is really good to put on in the background while working, he's able to keep up a rapport with chat no matter what's going on. He's also fantastic at making horror games fun to watch because he's pretty hard to spook.
-If you want something more energetic and upbeat, Alban Knox has fantastic energy (and is cracked at rhythm games.) He also plays a lot of indie/one-off games that I rarely see others pick up.
-Uki Violeta has a very calming, peaceful energy that is good to rewind with after a long day. I don't know what it is, but his voice takes all the stress out of me. He's a lovely vocalist and creative spirit in general, even if his low energy and flagrant homosexuality might not be for everyone.
-I don't know why I like Sonny Brisko, but once I started watching him I couldn't stop. He is a fascinating enigma of a man with more layers than a king-sized onion -- and the games he is good at, he's basically top of his class.
-Yugo Asuma isn't for everyone because he is loud and his grasp of english isn't great, but his karaoke are, in my opinion, very good -- love him or hate him, his musical chops are legitimate.

As far as Luxiem goes,
-Ike Eveland is a very passionate person who staunchly defends the place of dark themes in media, with incredible musical chops as both a vocalist and a mixer. He also yawns like a kitten and is just... incredibly endearing, I'm biased, I adore him.
-Luca Kaneshiro has upbeat zoomer energy but not in an annoying way, he's very genuine in his enthusiasm for things. He's also really good at improv and has a reputation for taking upwards of half an hour to actually end stream because he enjoys talking with chat. He's precious.
-Mysta Rias has a lot of madcap energy and is damn good at the actual job of entertaining, but he also has a softer, gentle side that makes me, personally, want to tuck him on my back like a mother goose with its goslings. He gets more than his fair share of BS from life and sometimes opens mouth inserts foot, but he's got a good heart and has a lot of really insightful things to say when he's not being unfiltered chaos.
-Shu Yamino is understated because a lot of his humor goes unnoticed if you aren't watching his POV in things. He is damn funny and can be downright catty despite effectively never swearing. I admit I slept on his content, but I appreciate what he does now.
-Vox Akuma is king of BFE and exists solely to push youtube's content restrictions to their limit. He's absolutely fantastic at storytellling and improv, he's free and open with his emotions good and bad, and he cares a hell of a lot. He doesn't fear controversy and his infamous ASMR are more like podcasts even when they're straight up porn. He's a good dude and he works (too) hard.

I got the suggestion from another archive anon in nenmen: Microsoft 365 Family Plan. 6 accounts x 1TB each for about $100 per year total. I did have to make separate email accounts but for how inexpensive and also how reliable, the little bit of extra fuss hasn't been a problem. For my oshi's channel archive, I just dropped the files into the OneDrive folder, set it up to so that once it was backed up it got removed from the hard drive (but ostensibly would be accessible any time I'm online) and then switched OneDrive accounts on my PC to get to the next TB of storage.

-I was prepared to hate Kyo Kaneko, but dude is genuinely funny, fantastic at holding a conversation, and is a very real sincere person overall. His model and voice are a wild contrast but that adds to the appeal.
-Ren Zotto is... not my cup of tea, but a friend enjoys his singing and his low-key, relaxed vibes. He has a musical background and seems to get along well with most people pretty effortlessly.
-Aster Arcadia is a guy who talks in a very "uwu" fashion and has a passion for League of Legends. He purports to be seiso (safe for work) but has also done a footcam stream, so take that as you will.

Bonus:

-Bonnivier Pranaja from (ex)ID is cracked at FPS games, sometimes lapses into a scottish accent thick enough to cut with a knife, and is basically a big beefy ray of sunshine that's impossible not to love. He is wonderful and deserves more support, and ALSO he's hot.
-Reza Avanluna from (ex)ID is a fantastic, really truly amazing singer with a gorgeous model and has the honor of being the forever DM of NijiEN whenever they play a TTRPG together over Discord.
-Suha Min from (ex)KR has a wonderful habit where he pretends to not know the meaning of a generally "sus" term in order to try and make his english-speaking companions define it without being unseiso. Man knows damn well what he's doing, he has a mischievous streak and is so much fun. He speaks EN, KR, and JP to various degrees and he is one of the only people I've ever seen genuinely fluster Uki Violeta in conversation.

Nagao Kei and Oliver Evans are also somewhat comfortable in English, but I don't watch them as much as I'd like to to have a strong opinion beyond Nagao being fucking gorgeous and having an adorable laugh, and Prof (Oliver Evans) having the patience of a saint and a terribly unfortunate fetish for a man so tall (giantess.)

Yeah that's fair... It's a catch-22, and I hate that by virtue of making polarizing content, Vox is probably always going to have trouble from one group or another. I think if he simply tells chat to keep horny shit to ASMR Sundays/other appropriate moments and to be normal the rest of the time, he'd realize that his community will follow his lead. I really wish that never happened but we can't turn back time, only move forward. Look on the bright side, if it never happened then we would still have her attentionwhoring in every single stream of his like when before it happened. That's one positive from this at least. I can relate to this. It's what happened to me with Altare. After the constant collabs, I couldn't see myself getting more emotionally invested in him. Even when I tried with the Alban collab, the wheel of tempus stream took away the magic from me.
I can only imagine how a kindred would feel when Vox actually does BFE. It's actually why, even when I enjoy his voice and ASMRs, I cannot oshi him after the Reimu incident, even when it was solely her fault. About what you said of Altare he's currently the most yume friendly of all, female collabs has stopped in general but he's the only one who said he rejected Mori's invitation, said he was only watching stars to know his senpais and shifting Holo discussion I think he wants to distance himself at least a bit for now. And after he said he won't so call ins because he only talks with his genmates I can kinda bought the idea of those collabs being organized by other members and I'm totally sure that Kronii forced herself into wheel of Tempus, on Altare's own words.
