Honestly, I hope so. I have so many VTubers that, while I may not be able to watch consistently, still have a place in my heart. If my oshis are still around and are still happy with where they're at, I couldn't imagine myself straying from them, and VTubers in general, no matter what happens. Interests may come and go, but I dunno, it's like they stick with you.

Hope he can adjust to his meds soon. The way that axia graduated has me hoping he addresses the freaks who neg him to be funny and the people that try to act like his mom.

Axia.. ;; His graduation has been a possibility ever since he announced his hiatus but this is still really sad to see.
Catalog watchers reduced his reasons to how he hated being called cute and how he hates his yumes/fujos but it's more complex than that. Sure he didn't like his chat spamming kawaii but the babying went much further than that, to the point that they'd even harass his collab partners (not just female ones) if they tried bantering with him, and they also didn't take him seriously whenever he tried addressing the issues. I don't think the fujos actually played a big part in this, as JP fujos are known to keep their shipping content hidden from the livers themselves.
Another reason seems to be whatever the hell management is doing, Axia joined niji hoping to stream games and have fun but they seem to be going down the idol route more and more lately and some livers don't like that. For example Thronez was started by the management, probably hoping to have similar results to Chronoir, but they forgot that the Chronoir boys themselves started doing activities together and it actually took them a while to actually get acknowledged as an unit. Meanwhile Thronez probably had less interest in being an idol duo unit, and yet management was trying to get them to do things they didn't really want to (especially Axia, I guess). All things considered, it'd also probably be really hard for him to come back and act like everything is normal after his last uploaded video.
So yeah, I'd really blame this one on disrespectful fans that kept on pushing boundaries as well as the management not treating their talents well. I hope he finds success in whatever he decides to do after this.
Sorry for the long post, seeing graduation announcements always makes me really sad. Remember not to take your oshi for granted and enjoy your time with him anons.

I'm really scared for what Nijisanji is doing lately, I still think them not permitting Mayuzumi to do whatever he wants just to have him stay- for how beloved he was by the rest of the talent alone- was a humongous misstep, and to be losing more people for the same reasons... it seems really short-sighted to me. I'm worried for everyone... he's EN and not JP, but I worry as well for people like Fulgur who, physically, cannot do things like complex choreography and stuff due to his health. I worry management will try to make people do things they don't want to do and more people will be forced to leave... it's hard.

That would be a difficult question to answer. You'd need someone who was an avid fan of both JP and EN to get an idea of liver sentiments towards management for comparison. On top of that, there's the cultural and geographic gaps: JP livers in Japan will have an easier time with perms, for example, just by virtue of everyone being in the same jurisdiction. Livers and management are on the same page from the start because everyone is familiar with the culture regarding copyright, work ethic, etc. With the EN branch, there are the logistical issues when dealing simultaneously with laws of two or more very different countries, permissions are probably a mess, and the inherent expectations and working styles of the EN branch are going to be different from the JP management. So this may look like EN being more heavily managed even if they're experiencing the exact same standards and processes as the JP branch. I think a lot of the people griping about management underestimate how much work is done behind the scenes.

I'll give you a serious answer because most ''fujobaiters'' don't actually do it right. I personally want to see two boys with cute models and voices being friendly and close in a natural way while playing games and hanging out. If it's too forced it will put people off, however some flirty jokes can be fine ocasionally. Then again, people like Shoto have a zoomer fujo audience which fucking loves the blatantly forced interactions so I guess you can also try appealing to those, but they're very immature and annoying.
Also, stay away from female collabs in either case.

I think I remember somebody here wishing there was a male who specialized in played otome visual novels and just reading out all the line while also reading the MC lines without trying to do a fake female voice. Seemed like the fake female voices really turned off this person. But anyhow there might be a bit of an untapped market for stuff like that, and it would probably appeal to more than just fujoshis.

It's hard to fake fujobaiting well and can bite you in the ass. If you want to fujobait, what I would recommend is networking with other male vtubers and find someone that you have chemistry with. And I don't mean romantic chemistry; I mean you find it easy to banter, conversation moves easily, etc. Collab with them, and ideally they'd be on the same page as you in wanting to grow their audience this way. The important part is not to force anything: you don't have to fake romantic feelings. If you naturally fall into teasing or flirty-ish banter sometimes, great, but you don't even need to do that. The really important thing is to make sure you're not giving off cues of discomfort or standard straight bro cues. Don't clam up if you're both laughing your asses off or if there's some kind of emotion in the air (see: Alban crying during his collab with Fulgur. That shit is gold).
Some examples of guys who draw in fujos without really doing anything explicit would be Fulgur (not including Psyborg which is obviously fujo heaven), Ike Eveland, and Kyo Kaneko from the NijiEN boys.
- Fulgur: his streams with Ike, Sonny and Alban sent off bursts of fanart and fujo activity, but if you watch the streams they're just...guys having fun. Bros being bros very much appeals to fujos.
- Ike: while his mannerisms are effeminate, he doesn't flirt or engage that way with the dudes. He's actually known for ignoring an explicitly shutting down Vox's attempts to flirt with him, but the humour in how he does it is a fujo favorite. This is a really good example of "not giving cues of discomfort"- Ike never seems uncomfortable with Vox's behaviour, instead coming off as exasperated or humorously annoyed with Vox specifically.
- Kyo Kaneko: very funny example. Zero engagement with fujo stuff, and actively shuts it down but he does this in a funny way that doesn't leave fujos feeling judged. But what happened here is that his banter with his gen mate (Ren) was so entertaining to watch that their ship has blown up despite the fact that Kyo doesn't play into it all. Conversely, Ren and Aster very intentionally tried to fujobait, but their lack of chemistry and embarrassingly hollow flirting killed the interest and activity around it.

I would not recommend using Vox, Mysta, Shoto, Luca, or Uki as references for what to emulate. If you were someone who could fujobait like Shoto, Vox or Uki, you'd already be doing it; they don't have to force it.

In all seriousness depite the well written posts I am heavily discouraged. I was thinking of it because I enjoyed a few vtubers that acted very anime-ish, ex a tsundere that acted very well and gave a strong vibe without being too dumb or stereotypical. etc, They're women so I won't mention them further. Anyways, I thought I'd do something similar and try character acting too, but if that's not what people want then whatever.

If you want to act out a character, that's a whole different ball game (coming from the anon that wrote that giant essay up there). Everything you got as feedback is the assumption that you'd have minimal kayfabe, as with most EN vtubers - so just being yourself. You can absolutely fujobait as a character, but much of the advice will remain the same. Once you have your character figured out and you know how they'll interact and react in situations, the next step is to become genuinely comfortable with that behaviour: if you're secretly uncomfortable or not interested in your collab partner or whatever male video game character is on screen, odds are it will show. So it's still important to find collab partners who make it easy to stay in character and who go with the flow. You'd also likely need to practice unfamiliar behaviours like flirting with dudes so that you appear comfortable and like you're enjoying yourself. In this specific case, I do recommend watching Uki's collabs with Schrodinger Lee specifically for flirting, with the double impact that there's a lot of it happening and it's overt, and the second is that Lee is straight, so you can see how a straight dude can still bait like crazy and play it off. I don't think you should be discouraged at all, but do be aware that you're in uncharted territory on the EN side.
