You probably missed it, but it’s brand new. Selen thought Mumei made it into Niji, and Mumei thought Selen was gonna be one of her council Genmates. They got confused and it took them a while to realize.

Combined with the rrat from last year about Petra being Mumei’s roommate, and Mumei being Orcschizo, it’s pretty funny that even the chuubas involved fell for it.

Mumei had a higher subcount than anyone currently in Niji EN had, there's 0 chance she would have been turned down on that criteria (or any criteria). She was always a tossup to be in either Niji EN or Holo EN2, and only started to be considered as having the Petra avatar in the week before Obsydia debut due to some stuff on her RM twitter. That's probably what Selen saw too.

As far as Selen, I never saw anyone considering her for Holo EN2. She was a very low 3-view on twitch for years. She was considered a darkhorse for a Niji slot, not a slam dunk like the guesses for the 3 girls in Lazulight or Rosemi.

One of those things was her liking/retweeting some Selen stuff, which was taken as an IRyS-style accidental self-dox, so I think that had to have been after that confusion had been cleared up.
Also, looking back to when Coco graduated, the list of top HoloEN2 candidates at the time was IRyS (also top vsinger candidate, so people were hedging their bets), Mumei, Selen, and Rosemi. With IRyS as vsinger and 2/3 clearly in Obsydia, people jumped the gun when they heard Petra’s voice because she wasn’t on anyone’s radar in the first place. Most of the others in Council were guessed after Obsydia debuted, with Kronii also having been a shot-in-the-dark guess during one of the audition announcement threads (Pomu was also mentioned).
