Basically. Gura's whole year has been very spotty when it comes to actual streams and this is just offputting because it's just another "look at our corporate mascot!" kind of deal. It feels like Kizuna Ai after her glory days, in a way. It's like she isn't actually doing anything anymore except existing as a symbol and being dragged to this or that convention, interview, "special event" and all other sorts of unrelated bullshit nobody asked for or cares about. She is theoretically omnipresent but in actuality absent.

I also blame/think I know what Cover is doing - they're trying to lure in new people because Tempus fucked everything into pieces, so their gamble now is to replace the original, actual audience even further by pulling in normalfaggots and casuals. This is what happened with Luxiem in Nijisanji - they lost and chased away the fans of the girls and replaced them with Chinese female fans of maletubers. Cover is trying to do the same here but on a bigger scale. Ergo Matpat or whatever he's called, ergo sucking up to youtube, ergo Mori, the most normalfag of vtubers with all her anti-vtubing baggage and bullshit. This is corporate, empty, sterile bullshit of the highest degree. The ultimate grift, the desperation move par excellance.

The fact Gura said fucking nothing and that this is the first time we're seeing her after two or three weeks just hurts. It feels wrong, and cynical. The Gura I fell in love with just isn't there anymore. I'm giving her a final chance, this month alone will make or break the deal for me. She either sits her ass down and streams for these 30 days or I'm done being her member and I'm done with Hololive as a whole. I already got filtered out of HoloEN due to Ame, Kroni, Mori and the males but now it's more personal. I wouldn't mind it as much if she said a day in advance that she has an interview, I'd just accept it as something she has to do, but her silence makes it oddly disconnected from actually communicating with us or having any semblance of caring. She changed so, so much, and it was all for the worst. I've been membered for over a year, and I struggle to compare her now with how she once was.

This is just too corporate, sterile and "professional" to be appealing. All the joy seems gone, and though HoloEN became a miserable experience to watch or participate in, I held on to Gura because she ignored the male cancer and so on. But the problem seems to be unrelated to that - her silences, no streams, meaningless cons, interviews, appearances, shilling, it all left a very bad taste in my mouth. This doesn't feel authentic or organic anymore, and my joy is gone.
