Hell, if you actually sit and look at the hours they work a week, then look at how much they're getting JUST from donations, let alone all the other sources of income they get (Memberships, vod views, the salary they get from Cover, sponsorships, etc.) it's laughable that anyone sits there defending them.

They're raking in an easy 6 figures, almost down to the person, from superchat donations alone. They stream, on average, about 12 hours a week. That's $160/hr on average per $100k earned.

Yes, I am aware they do stuff behind the scenes too, but there's absolutely no way it's 30 hours a week of behind the scenes stuff. There's just no actual proof that they work that hard, period.

Nobody is forcing you to gamble either, yet it's heavily regulated and even illegal in many places. When they're being paid so much for doing nothing, it's necessary to investigate if there's some sort of abuse taking place. In this case, there clearly is. They're exploiting the functionality of the male brain that has evolved for the sake of taking care of a lover, family, and friends. Males can't help but to pay for these vtubers because it's in their dna to protect and provide for the people they spend time with. Nobody is forcing them to pay while getting nothing in return, but they have no choice but to do so. Gura and Ayumu are morally obliged to either stream or graduate. In an ideal world, they would also be legally obliged to do one or the other.
