The thing is I think when someone barely streams it doesn't take much to be a fan does it? You only need to watch a few hours every week or so. So its not really a great big ask. You can be a fan of another vtuber on top of that who streams a normal amount and still watch everything Gura does.

Once you get to the top and establish a core fanbase who will simp no matter what, there is no reason to put effort in anymore. No wonder Gura's favorites are Aqua and Shion, just follow their playbook of only doing the absolute bare minimum and continue milking the industry until it is no longer sustainable.

Sometimes I wish the HoloENs could hop on Twitch for a guerilla No Content stream as an alternative to not streaming at all. But then there's the risk that it'll become the only thing they do.

With hololive there are many things that the talents don't control that can burn them out. The radio silence is a sign that Ina and Gura have been having disagreements with Cover for most of the year. Vesper just got a 2 week suspension so the schism between the talents and management is only getting worse.
