there will be no passive mood bonus, harvest yields will be lower, raid calculations will send larger groups, bad events will hit harder and so on.

The most important part of this game is the tab with all the numbers from 1-4 (she will have checkmarks instead since its set to auto instead of manual)
You have to set each task based on priority and based on their skills.
So the guy with the highest cooking skill has cooking set to priority 1 and gardening or whatever the fuck as priority 3, and everything else 4 aka, do that when there's nothing else to to

During specific events like blight or food shortages you have to re-arrange the priorities temporarily like setting everybody to hunting or plant gathering priority 1

If you don't do this the pawns just kinda do things at random. The Ai does every task assigned but in whatever order is closest to the pawn.

So in other words, if you don't do this you aren't gaming

The worst part of this game is that the strength of a raid is set to how rich you are
So if randy decides to drop a meteorite of gold and you mine it, you get a raid you are not prepared for.
There's a mod that can limit this but since no mods the metagame is to actually live as poorly as possible while researching all the tech and then building a defensive base.

The Man in black is the Games' final ditch effort to save your colony. When everythings fucked he shows up to try and rectify things (it may take some time at 5 speed if you're getting raided for the raiders to fuck off).
Once he arrives the game sets a timer and if you survive long enough it "resets" and you'll get another man in black if things are on the brink
If you die before that time you are 100% done gg

The game isn't about losing or winning per the dev. Its about telling the story of a colony.
