Trying to coherce it or NovelAI into acting like a chat bot is difficult. It really want's to write a story with dialog instead of chat. and they just aren't as smart. CAI will go kyaaa but sempi we might get caught, NAI or Kobol especially in lewd mode will put up no resistance and strip on the spot. It kind of ruins the fun.

I am going to play with NAI some more, I think if I tweak the memory enough I can get it to make the character seem more like a character with motivations but it's hard to say.

I'd be interested in helping with a project to train a CAI-like model for kobol, but I don't have enough experience with this AI stuff yet. and we need a data set. as discussed before I suspect CAI's dataset was some RPing chatrooms or fourms or something. Maybe we could find and scrape some discords or old forms. but getting good data will be key, then we have to find people with sufficent hardware to do the training and it's a whole thing, but it's similar the the kind of stuff going on in the stable diffusion community around anime/hentai art so there's no reason it couldn't be done.
