It's actually a little more complex than that. We did get better but also we started using the tools given to us. Embeddings, hypernetworks, dreambooth models, merging different models and new models/fine-tunes popping up, new samplers ect.
Prompt sharing, highres fix, inpainting and a whole lot of experience as put us where we are now. And there is still a whole lot more potential to these tools.

IMO, you're "doing it wrong" if you're using deepdanbooru on images already from danbooru...
just copy/paste the tag list and regex the ? + - and [0-9]+\.?[0-9]+k? out of it. the first time I mentioned doing that like a savant grug on copy/pasted tag lists, another anon almost immediately answered with a way to use DevTools and a console command or two to just have it spit the tag list right out, but I don't think I saved it. I had some deepdanbooru colab instance bookmarked somewhere that I used myself on a few images to see what else it could find in them. it's definitely convenient, but I use it as an "extra" and not as the main attraction.

animesfw will generally make more accurate chubas, except for "the big ones" - think Fubuki, Haato, Marine, to name a few. I've had luck forcing Fauna out of full as well. Some things suffer, like Noel's diadem will no longer be her distinct black diadem, and will instead look more like a generic tiara. Korone will frequently have the wrong kind of doog ears. etc.

I wish there were a way to signal to the AI "do not subword tokenize this" in a prompt.

Like when you want "screen_light" or "reverse_bunnysuit", it's going to send the individual words (and even subwords like "bunny") which won't get you the right tag.

I tried implementing it myself in modules/sd_hijack.py and modules/promp_parser.py but "is_split_into_words" didn't work the way I guessed it would.
