Obviously the streamer should be entertaining on their own but the game matters too.
Not just directly but also indirectly cause some games require too much attention from the streamer.

Take minecraft for example. Minecraft facilitates lots of streamer driven entertainment, due to the free form gameplay.
Streamers can do whatever they want and use the game as a tool for creativity.
On the other hand the recent notPortal puzzle thingy Kiara played is pretty much the opposite of that.
The gameplay requires lots of attention and the story has tons of voice-over and scripted stuff.
If a game like that isn't good, then most streamers, including Kiara can't do much to make it more, because they need to focus on the game to actually play and the structure of the game prevents them from expressing themselves in other ways.

The shitty co-op bird kusoge Kiara played with mumei was a perfect example of that.

Calliope because her job paired her up as the obsessive one in the pair with Mori as a tsundere role, it lacked any chemistry and retards misunderstood the interaction as if it was serious. Kiara felt she lacked talent compared to all the others but Mori perhaps drove that home a bit more due to her musical successes and related numbers. Kiara was always a tryhard but ironically a lazy one that tries things she thought would be successful rather than doing something interesting or creative, and tried to make up for it with brute force. When Mori was bad at being a tsundere kiara just tried harder as the obsessive chaser, making things worse as the retarded fans didn’t understand resulting in Mori being even less interested (in playing a disinterested role, ironically) and the cycle repeating. Kiara got better and her tryhard nature does help her stay consistent at least and take her job seriously even now as opposed to Calliope who is an awful alcoholic blight with imposter syndrome that makes it everyone’s problem.
Ina on the other hand is a bit more subtle but while Kiara is a tryhard, Ina is the exact opposite and yet has always been steadily above Kiara in subs despite Kiara’s efforts.
I suppose there could be some jealously toward Ame too since Ame quickly got the reputation of the rock and leader of the group, supporting others. I think Kiara would love to be that, the Fubuki of EN but she is not a creative, charismatic or likeable enough person for it.
However I think Kiara has long made peace with her situation. This is the closest she’ll get to being a proper and successful idol and while that success comes from the Hololive buff it is success nonetheless so it is something to appreciate.

The real issue is not that it's "obnoxious", a lot of people won't mind. The problem is that you're splitting your viewerbase. Casual English-speaking viewers will leave if they watch you speaking Japanese, and JP "listeners" will do the same if they hear English. At the end you can only rely on your most-dedicated fanbase. Kiara (and many others to be fair) thought sepaking two languages would double the fans, but in practice it splits your viewership. It's not her fault though because no one knew how the EN market was working back then.
