the “hobby” of watching vtubers, particularly for english viewers, was already a very niche one. like almost mlp levels of social embarrassment and not ever really that enjoyable. it really took off in 2020 because covid and people stuck at home watching bubbly fun anime girls do fun things with real time interactions. hololive is the biggest source of that kind of entertainment, and for whatever reason their english branch hates what they do and it makes all of the EN streams really uncomfortable and unejoyable to watch. there are some indies and shit that actually so like it and do put out some fun streams, but they’re a total minority. i hate to say it but unless hololive hires a miracle EN 3 the english vtuber trend is probably done.

Don't think that was the intention, but HoloEN was definitely not equipped with the numbers to handle what Tempus did. Had there been more streams and more members, having a few decide to collab with Tempus wouldn't have been as big of an issue. However, 10 members, and 4 of them decided collabing with Tempus was something they really wanted to do, and 2 of them took a flamethrower to their fanbase to do it. as a %, that's really fucking bad, 20%+ of the HoloEN fanbase got exposed to real shit behavior by Ame and Kronii.
If there was EN3, 2/15 is far less of an issue than 2/10.
Releasing Tempus when they did was a terrible mistake, and very well could mark the final chapter on any future growth of HoloEN unless EN3 is truly special.
