If your goal is subs growth and ad revenue, sure but Holos are completely sidestepping that for merch and sponsorship revenue.

Eh, I'll agree to this to some extent. CCV is only one stat out of many that you need to be successful. Streaming too long might in fact affect VOD views since "catching up" on past streams becomes daunting if your inaundated with multiple 6-8 hour streams. Hence why stream highlight compilations on YT are a thing for Twitch streamers.

Emphasis on the consumable mindset, this implies that he never really thought that 'Vtuber' will become a main industry, but only as a supportive industry to another. In his thought it's probably natural that a 'Vtuber' will debut, live around for around a year or two then dies, which led to the thought that anime characters would be better.
He isn't technically wrong in that regard, since if you're only eyeing a shelf life of a year or so, then having the biggest impact during your debut and first months are probably the best way to maximize profit, and doing kayfabe thing is definitely the way to go as all of us already saw with Salome. The problem here is that this mindset only set sight on short-term profit, once the initial boom is gone people won't come back to their contents since there really is no attachment you can get with an anime character, you only get those with interaction between humans. Which in turn will lead into the infamous ACCELERATE, the need to constantly replace those old stories with the new ones.

Personally I dislike his way of thinking. Like, those Chronoir that he looks up to never really play up their kayfabe even.
