When I was young I read a lot of fantasy books like Skulduggery Pleasant, the Ranger’s Apprentice series (which had major shonen anime vibes, I’m 99% sure the author was an early weeb), the maze runner series and the hunger games series to name a few.
As I got older I started to read a lot more Stephen King, like his gunslinger series, a few of his horror novels (Pet Sematary was great) and some others. I also recall trying to read middlemarch but gave up, maybe I should give it a go again. I never really enjoyed reading them as much as the grand adventures I read about when I was young.
Nowadays I read a lot of short stories, like the Fantasy & Science Fiction books that are a collection of short stories. I also started reading a biography about a sniper that served in the Gallipoli war.
My favourite books of all time probably are the Ranger’s Apprentice books (except the last one, I’m pretty sure I hated it) though I barely remember what happened in them other than the fact that they were really fucking fun to read. Childish, but I don’t think I’ll ever recapture that feeling I had reading them.

Before Lui can properly begin her meal she hears a roar overhead. Looking up she spys a C-130, and two parachutes opening. Squinting against the sunlight Lui sees it's Okayu and Korone. They must have come as backup, or to detour Lui from overhunting. "Not safe for a hawk to be out in this weather," she muttered as the duo drifted lower, "It's raining Cats and Dogs."

I have one where you'll be drugging Kobo's candy bars with an aphrodisiac and watching her touch herself from a hidden camera in her room at night. Another is that her parents put her in charge of managing their water usage, to have her feel like she was contributing and helping their financial situation any, which led to them sharing bath's and showers so Kobo actually finds it comforting to bathe with somebody else. Doubly so if that person can explain and replicate the funny feelings she's been getting after bedtime.

I'm someone who has a pretty significant visual disability, and because of this my growth as an artist was always painfully slow, because what is art if not your ability to translate what you see into a canvas? I can study the theory as much as I want; "a body is X heads tall", "perspective is done with x amount of points", "red and yellow mixed will make orange" etc., but if I struggle to see the world around me in the first place, I will struggle to draw it on a piece of paper.

I say this because natural talent is absolutely a factor on how quickly someone can grasp certain concepts, but practice and hard work ultimately can make someone who is less talented be a much better artist/writer/musician than someone who's talented but lazy. Talent is a leg up, no doubt about it, but it's not something that can't be overcome with practice.

Ultimately once you attain mastery, natural talent becomes irrelevant and what ends up setting you apart is your creativity, and how you apply your skills. Even in the art world, some people are much better suited for certain things than others; look at ONE for example and how One Punch Man's original manga is regarded as having "incredible paneling" and yet the art that fills those panels is supbar. Lots of artists are amazing at coloring, but once you put their knowledge of anatomy to the test you start seeing some fucked up shit.

Being a "legend" is equal parts talent, hard word and luck, to be honest. Luck always plays a factor. Just because you find it hard to match up doesn't mean you shouldn't do it. The world is literally inhabited by mediocre people, there's no shame in being another one of them.

In terms of it being a story, it's fine it gets across the idea but it felt more restrained but the format rather than embracing it, by which I mean the way it sets the scene and characters makes it seems like it wanted to have more words to try and say more but found itself not really having the room to grow so it has those first few paragraphs eating up word count like a normal fic but then it has to rapidly close out the story before it hits the limits.
Still it's a good attempt at a writing challenge.
