Claiming territory helps keep builds in an area related to their oshi, unlike spawn, which is a clusterfuck of everything.
Claiming a bit of extra, undeveloped territory gives space to build for when someone new joins with the same oshi.
There are exceptions since we made the mistake of building 7+ towns within 1000 blocks of spawn early on, like Haatown and Takotown. But to avoid another haaton-tako war, its best to define borders, or places get bombed.

Next restart will introduce a proper sitting plugin instead of those jank ass invisible pigs. On top of that, while looking for a way to fix bed spawns, I discovered this plugin https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/%E2%AD%90-huskhomes-1-16-1-19-%E2%AD%90-simple-intuitive-teleportation-suite-with-cross-server-support.83767/, which would let me consolidate the tpa, spawn and sethome plugins which are all dated and causing issues.

You would lose your current home and have to reset it, but the possibility is there for multiple homes depending on how much you collectively decide everyone should have. Public warps will also be an option, which some people have requested for further out event places like new phase town. It's a big change so going to wait for a good amount of debate, preferably in the thread, before going live with it

Public warps would be nice for the 10k/20k hubs and things like that, but using them for anything else would probably not be wise. Rather than a command I'd prefer them to work from certain places in the nether hub like the amusement park does.

Regarding homes, maybe 2 homes would be a good compromise? It would reduce need for alt teleport slaves, for one thing.

Two or three. Exploration is my favorite part of the server and the struggle is half the fun. I don't want to warp past the bamboo spike traps or TNT land mines. However, it would be nice to warp to a few far out farms, far away settlements, one for whatever you want and one for your own base.
