there is a MASSIVE market for the counter culture niche that phase prior to gen 2 was heavily catering towards. not necessarily going political in any way, but rather overall avoiding it while allowing talent to just do and say what they want. i think sakana understands this to a degree but his experience and perspective limit him heavily in carrying it out.
the main point i would worry about is that he misunderstands where he sits in the market and attempts to course correct in a bad direction. his statement on the "delinquent, comedian, and priest" alludes to where he sees himself and his company.

on a separate note i feel that either sakana or muumi are trying to force both the convention appearances, the subathons, and the "wonderai" stuff too hard. if there was more background support it'd be okay but you can very obviously tell that it's taking a toll on the talent and affecting their streams. right now there seems to be a heavy confusion in the company as to what direction phase will take. even the normie viewers have started noticing.
