To be fair, EN3 is going to be the first post-Tempus generation. Considering that Council and Myth has had a significant part of their career without StarsEN the only choices of males they've had were the StarsJPs with a language barrier or outsider males that were way beyond the comfort of their company.

Most of the "protagonists" right now are protagonists by circumstance and not by choice; Kiara, Gura, etc. were most likely led towards or intimidated into being pro-gachikoi over the course of their career. EN3 will be the first gen to go by choice as they can establish to their viewers how they will go about with their experience from scratch, and they will be the ultimate litmus test for how different EN's culture ends up against JP's.

I have a feeling that the new gen is going to work together more and have way more collabs with each other than the previous generations of girls if we go by how tempus is different. I think that was the biggest strategic change in how they talent scouted tempus, focusing more on hiring a group of streamers that work well together as a team rather than a group of individual streamers. This was also the biggest weakness of the last gen of hololive jp, they were very high skill and good streamers but they had shit intergroup dynamics, and I think their numbers and popularity suffered as a result, whereas tempus is probably performing much better than they would have if they were not such a tight group. This is actually an interesting point. Nobody on Council is that interested in making music compared to someone like Mori. While all of them have oone original each only Rrat and Owl really give the idea that they want to focus on that area but they only have a handful of covers, with Kronii having even less and barely doing karaokes and Fauna being the SOVL member. I wouldn't be surprised if whoever is managing HoloEN (be it Omega or another faggot we don't know) is purposefully avoiding good singers that actually want to make music to keep Mori (and IRyS to a lesser extent) as sole musical focus of the branch.

It's statistically impossible that Cover didn't get a single possible candidate that had the same passion for the thing. Now there's this rrat that apparently comes from a members stream from Axel that Cover looks for people to fit certain roles, which in a way makes sense since the models are most likely done or close to being done by the time they confirm the members. JP side and the western side are two completely different beasts. Utaites have more opportunities than western indie musicians who you'll rarely see getting as popular as Mori without a huge investment from the big labels.
