Ok, if I'm being honest the costume is bland as hell and the cat ears were the only thing worth noticing. But even then, cat ears are overdone in hololive and these cat ears were super generic ones pasted onto her head.
Unlike Ina and Mori, the costume does not match her personality at all. And unlike Kiara, this costume is not an upgrade to the original, if anything its a big downgrade. Also, she got like zero accessories/additions. Just one bland alt with no customization.
The stream in general felt very low effort. As if she was just doing it to get it over with. No skits like the other girls, just "heres the outfit, ok I'm gonna go now". Does she even enjoy being part of hololive? Because this stream really didn't feel like she put any energy into it.

I know everyone is just gonna call me an anti, but that's just how I feel. Low effort costume and low effort reveal stream.

She probably has watched other outfit reveal streams, but just for entertainment, not really for research. It's like they all got a school assignment to do a presentation, and got a demonstration of an A presentation beforehand. Kiara sees it and decides she's gonna fuck with the lights and bring props. Ina decides she's gonna illustrate her presentation. Gura just copies the example exactly because she thought that's what they were supposed to do. I think a lot of it has to do with "momentum".
The way that the youtube algorithm works is that it recommends channels/videos that have really good performance. Essentially, the more subs/views you have, the easier it is to keep that momentum going. The only way to stop growth on a channel as big as Gura's is to just stop posting, which won't happen because of the contract she signed.
The reason she got so big in the first place is because of her past life and ok b**m*r becoming a worldwide sensation.
If we are talking in terms of exponential growth, her growth rate is comparable to the other girls. Its just that she had that massive principal subscriber base.

They need either a second back-head texture for the ears to connect to, ear fluff to cover the edge, or a headband to make them look less jarring. A lot of the hololive girls have some of these floating head attachments that don’t quite look like they’re really attached- look at any of them with twin tails. As for her face, it’s just poorly rigged- no sense of depth, just the guy skewing it with a deformer for the whole thing, so it looks like a warped piece of paper. It reeks of being rushed. I studied and practiced 3D modeling. UV mapping and rigging and two separate subjects. While I have no experience with Live2D, what the anon in the pic is saying is absolutely correct.

In UV mapping, essentially, you are assigning a portion of a 2D image to a specific triangle (read: "geometry") such that when the triangle is (correctly) displayed it will show the model as intended. In rigging, you're basically "programming" the behavior of the model, including the way that UV maps (and the images that are contained in them) move and deform in relation to the model.

He mentions "seams" which is the places where you "hide" images (the texture map) such that an object appears more authentic than it actually is. Seams are also found on models/rigs themselves when they are not properly constructed/aligned/merged ( "clipping" is one such behavior). From the front/idle stance, you can't tell that Gura's model is bad because all of the seams are not visible. However, once she moves it all falls apart because the shoddy rigging job (which is assume by pic related to be an autorig) breaks the illusion.

Either this person either:

at which point it is better to simply not commission this artist.
