Kind of, you can set it to use a hotkey to switch but there is a loading time between models.
You can absolutely just have a bunch of toggles in L2D where it changes the opacity of layers so you can make them expression toggles to simply change the image/expression.
So basically yes but you'll have to play around with cubism a bit first to learn how to do it, and the trial version only allows a certain amount of 'parameters' which is what you'll want to use for your toggles. (It's still simpler than doing the rigging though.)

Speaking of being parasocial, how do you guys handle it when you get jealous when your oshi interacts with other people? I get very jealous and posesive about her, even her just replying to someone's tweet gives me stomach pain sometimes.
