holoEN hit their peak in 2021 and is starting to decline. The global recession has sped up the decline but it was always going to happen. The stable market size for holoEN will be closer to the numbers they get in 2023.

The hidden problem in holoEN is that the sexualized outfits of the Korean talents have caused numerous fights between the EN talents and Cover's upper management. There are indications that a compromise was reached this summer but this hurt them during their peak years. Cover's policy of designing the main outfits for the talents and giving them no control over it has been a complete disaster and was the biggest mistake they made with HoloEN.

It's not necessarily that bleak since they'll always have a decent audience, and HoloEN's averages are nothing to scoff off since it's already way above the mark to make streaming your main job. Also I don't think it'll influence Cover's decision to give them support considering how much they do it for Holostars and they're nowhere close to EN's worst performers, not to mention how more than half of ID is also around the same ballpark, so I don't think Gura's live will change anything about Cover's strategy with EN other than maybe focus on a timeslot that is more friendly to a Japanese audience if the one they've chosen doesn't get the numbers expected for such event. I believe Sana's graduation was way more important for EN going forward considering how they changed the auditions page and are now asking for the new candidates to have a goal before they audition. Because Myth is how 99% of westerners got into vtubing, so it will always hold a special place in our hearts.
