To live off of vtubing Kiki is going to need tens of thousands of dollars a year. I doubt Kiki has made anywhere near what she needs to live off of, and that's even with the support of whoever the big donors have been, which can leave at any moment and have Kiki earning even less that what she has been.
It's simply not sustainable to expect 20 people to contribute a significant percentage of their income to a vtuber, and the pressure and tension related to this is clearly taking a toll on Kiki and the fanbase (hence why there are only 20 people left).
