In my opinion, this is precisely the kind of content world building is built off of. Titanic Fantasy Asses. I must conspire with the /lig/ger to find the right indies to spread this phenotype far and wide across the land, currently, Milky seems like a perfect genetic sample to start off with a minotaurish race of people given the pure architectural beauty of her divine titty monster form.
I think that might actually be a good basis for one of the secret purposes of the /ag/ collaborative human cattle project or as it is more commonly known, Baskin Brosnan's. I can see it being really useful for us fetish cults as a large scale operation, a sort of farm that harvests not just milk and other bodily fluids but also as a factory breeding facility that breeds individuals that will slowly spread certain genes throughout their respective populations that might take generations before they become fully expressed but will erupt in brilliant fashion when they finally do, the architecting of not just an entire family or an entire tribe but an entire generation of women.
It could also be used to further the Kindred's goals of giving birth to Vox through the slow but measured process of attaining all traits which compose Milord's concept over the course of what could very well be hundreds of years worth of nonstop secret factory breeding. There could be experiments to determine the factors that optimize fertility and create hyper fertile aphrodisiac drugs, perhaps given enough time it might even be possible to END MENOPAUSE once and for all and cure infertility worldwide. There is much more than meets the eye to this facility and if I can ever get to it I think it'll be a good source of content.

Most fanbases in lore are modeled after the chuubas so I'd assume the same could be said for Elfriends. We do have Flare and Lamy though Flare in particular does not like to be known as a Dark Elf, from what I've heard from around the block. Still, Flare is a goddess of interest in terms of architectural capabilities, we will look into this...

Given dark elf's "reputation" in many fantasy works, her not wanting to be associated with them seems in line with what I heard about her personality inb4 le racism
I guess she's also fairly pale in complexion, so the skin colour might come from the human side or she's supposed to live somewhere that's sunny. Now that you mention it, Lamy's also apparently a half-elf... it seems pure-blooded elves are surprisingly rare in terms of vtuber lore?

Strange considering Japanese fantasy really likes elves as a trope more than most other countries, I'm certain there's a few popular ones that we're just overlooking but right now I can't think of any. Maybe this could be a lore thing, like a great lost elven race that is referenced in many histories by is seemingly utterly absent? with the plot twist being that humanity crossbred them out of existence through sheer orgasmic energy

>> No.33076627

>>33076176
Fair point, then again the half-elf thing seems fairly inconsequential, considering that the half-elf vtubers that we get don't seem to display any fewer archetypical elf traits (not that we have a comparison unless someone knows of pure elf characters in vtubing). I guess the only prominent elf stereotype that isn't on display would be elves' tendency to be utter cunts, but I guess that might not work well as vtuber concept given the somewhat interactive nature of things. In that case breeding elf out of existence won't really work since elf traits are apparently dominant when paired with human phenotype (unless the humans in both cases happen to also have elven genes)

I'd love to see it, I think we should try to add in some fantasyish races and animals that aren't explicitly based entirely off of chuubas since instead of having several equally distinct elf races or dragon races, we could have them each be genetically related to a common draconic species or concept, though I'm not sure how well that would work. I'll need to keep my eye out for the next pointy eared chuuba though, maybe they'll actually deliver and give us some good eating. Pic very much related.
>(unless the humans in both cases happen to also have elven genes)
How would that work? Something similar to that theory about how humans mating pressed the Neanderthals out of existence?

Pure blood elves might be balanced in table top but they're pretty overpowered in real life rules. They live for centuries, always look young regardless of age, immunity to human diseases, and they have natural magic ability. Also in fantasy half elves are always looked down for the mudblood mutts that they are. They're elves but they only have half the power and lifespan that elves have.

>> No.33077871

>>33077535
Personally I'm kind of ambivalent when it comes to adding standard fantasy races into this setting, since more often than not I feel they were thrown in for no reasons apart from filling a checklist or something. If we have to add elves or other fantasy beings, I feel it would be better if we work out how they actually work compared with baseline humans, so that they don't end up being humans with funny bits on them.
>half-elf parentage
If we assume elven phenotype is controlled by a single gene and is only expressed in boolean ways (either you have it, or you don't), then a half-elf having elven phenotype means that if elves really interbreed with humans, it would be humans that get bred out (all human-elf offsprings will look elf-like, while ~1/4 of half-elf offsprings will look human-like). In this case, offspring between an elf and a half-elf would have ~50% chance of looking like human.

>>33077688
I mean, it depends a lot on how the elves are designed, since not all elves in all fantasy works share the same traits (then again, a lot of them just copy off the popular perception of Tolkien's work, or copy off said copies). I think that actually illustrates my point of making sure we know what kind of elf are we using before porting them into our setting.

Normally I'm a fan of Elves with fae ancestry but are genetically similar enough to humans to cross-breed. Then again that would also imply fairies and human have a genetic ancestor at some point. Which there's heavy vocal opposition against. We can use the chimera DNA argument with demihumans like Risuners for Elves. Or Elves are just another hominid related to humans but aren't human.

>> No.33078418

>>33078213
I don't mind them being able to interbreed with humans (it's a fairly common trope after all), but rather I want to know what said fae ancestry brings to the table before adding them in. Like, in the case of Risuners and Palkyries, we know their animal bits give them special traits that shape their culture in some ways (to say nothing about the entirely non-human Rosebuds), so if we are to introduce elves into the setting, the least we can do is to work out details like that to make them stand out.

I suppose it depends on the elf tribe or ethnicity. You have high elves, wood elves, and dark elves as the three common types of elves. Elf types would be like ethnicities in humans. As for culture it depends on where they live. An elf tribe who lives in the snowy mountains would be genetically different than elves that live in the jungle. They're not different because of their diets. They're also different due to mating selection for surviveability. Snowy mountain elves love big booba because booba is fat. Jungle elves love pettanko because less weight and less fat to swing in trees and cool off better. Just giving examples.

But won't the same also be equally applicable to humans? If anything, a shorter reproductive cycle would logically make them adapt to a new environment sooner than elves (if we assume the archetype of them living longer and reproducing later than humans), unless the elves in question somehow have a more active epigenetics that allow for quicker adaptation in fewer generations.

Would that 50% nessecarily mean that elfs would outbreed humans if the amount of half elfs was greater than the amount of elves? Ignoring most other fantasy tropes about elves, I think the "they've got a far slower reproduction cycle than humanity" thing could mean that the pregnancy and birthing rest period are vastly unequal. Pureblooded Elves themselves might not fuck around nearly as much as humans do but half elfs might be the exception. I could reasonably see a scenario where half elves begin to grow in greater population due to human breeding and the pure elf population begins to diminish due to elf + half elf crossbreeding, though I think the one thing is that the half elf population would still be very large and grow at a faster rate than humans and pure elfs.
I guess they do outbreed humans if you consider half elfs to be elves, though that's also assuming that half elfs would reproduce at the same rate that normal humans do. I think there's a chance.

>> No.33079258

>> No.33079543

No, but it means you can't really breed elven phenotype out of existence, since you only need 1 elven allele to reproduce the elven traits on the offspring's appearance. As such, if we assume there is enough elven blood in the beginning, intensive interbreeding will end up having human traits be bred out in terms of phenotype - some will still be born with human traits, but they would be rare among the now-predominantly half-elf population that still looks rather elf-like, if the half-elf vtubers we have is of any indication.

>>33079258
Yes, but unless elven offspring have more (meaningful while non-lethal) mutations than human ones (thus allowing for more phenotype to apply selective pressure to), having more won't necessarily speed up the adaptation process.

>> No.33083497

Well, seeing that they're both fictional, it's entirely dependent on which one you prefer. In Layman's terms, if we assume the Risuner and elf trait shares the same gene (possible, but doesn't have to be the case) and it works on an either-or basis (either you have that trait or you don't), then how the offspring between a pureblood Risuner and a pureblood elf look will show which one is dominant. It should be noted that this is not necessarily how it works, as while some human traits (like whether you can roll your tongue and such) work that way, there are also human traits that don't (like skin colour - the offspring between a white person and a black one won't be either black or white). In fact, it's entirely possible that a mixed Elf-Risuner would have both elven and Risuner traits. It should also be noted that dominance in gene doesn't really mean it's "superior" so to speak.

As for worldbuilding on topic you should look into what you have available as cooking appliances. Nothing beats cooking on a campfire. But there should be other things like brick ovens, kettles, copper and cast iron pots and pans, ceramic pots, and other thing. You could argue that the elven traits passed onto Flare, Aki and Wamy are kind of superficial. They have pointy ears, and in the case of flare red eyes and darker skin, but apart from that you could argue that they have largely human features. They don't have the Elven face type and they don't live like traditional elves.

I do agree with you about not knowing much about how to go about it, out of all literary genres, smut and erotica are the least respected on nearly all levels of academia despite sexual themes and innuendo being present in practically all forms of media. I think because of that lack of analysis on actual smut, there's far more crappy smut than there is good smut, but that also makes me respect good smut writers like rosebro way more, nanora. In terms of resources I used the 1d4chan page on smut writing as a basic guide line though I'm 90% sure it's totally gone now along with alot of the pastebins they used to save the stories, I did save the writings from my favorite author in a google doc tho.

though, for one the grammar will probably be simplified: no irregular anything, that usually dies out in creolization, especially considering a pidgin of two languages.
two, svo word order would probably evolve from the languages, that's just how creoles tend to work. even stemming from sub and superstrata without that word order, the "baby talk" theory is at least probably right in this aspect. maybe simple things such as reflexive declensions or "no double negatives" rules don't exist, because the human mind usually doesn't consider two negatives an affirmative, in this case probably considers two negatives an emphasis, like japanese and their litotes.
third, consider how kids speak when they first learn a language, then becoming a fully grammatical structure. think of it like this: if the complex structure of a language wasn't grasped initially by a child, who is to tell that child not to speak that new language the way they do, when the language doesn't really even exist yet? the result is creole logic. keep in mind i'm only saying this for complex grammar, simpler things like possessives and affixes will still mostly exist (though they might too be simplified)
fourth, substrates, which in this case i believe to be nahuatl, will probably survive to become the sound of the language, but honestly you can do whatever the fuck founder was doing. who knows, maybe mix phonology and approximate sounds to nahuatl to create sounds articulated in similar places of the mouth, because having to switch between an old norse word and 'tl' from nahuatl would probably result in some gagging.

yeah, i was assuming the bulk of the grammar was predetermined, and then simplified from old norse. just using simplified derivatives of whatever category the inflection was for would probably work, maybe it was relating to a number, you can just say "two x" instead of inflections, like in english, a very very weakly inflected language. or maybe keep the more common ones that a kid could grasp, creoles are weird and you have some leeway to just make shit up as you go, god knows i've done it before

Oh, hey, you're back! I remember wanting to ask a Sapling what they think might change about their customs in the Era After (aka post-apocalyptic AU set hundreds of years in the future with low tech level). I'm stuck on what to write next, so I might unshelve that /uuu/ overview.

Here's what I got so far, as a timeline from the start of the point of divergence until the AU's present:
>Mommy Fauna disappears, nowhere to be found to this day
>All the world's chuubanite stops working, meaning no human or otherwise can transform into a Sapling anymore
>Great hordes of schizos begin invading the entire northwest Holocontinent
>Some Saplings that live in the outer forest area, more mature ones especially, retreat inwards and essentially turn the forest into a fortress, while others decide to try to tough it out outside the deeper forest
>Saplings inside the inner forest essentially turn it into a fortress, making sure no schizos get in. This is at the cost of not being able to control the outer sections of /uuu/ territory
>Humans and schizos migrate and start living in the outer forest area alongside Saplings that didn't wish to or were unable to enter the forest area
>Race war infrequently breaks out now in the outer forests
>Saplings weep every night for their mother to come back
That's the general outline of it. I dunno how to make much more than that though beyond "Saplings do everything the same except now they're in a smaller area and also they're very sad."

I know it's a lot to dump on someone just coming back, but I did wanna ask before I forget about it myself.

Well in the timeline we currently have, Fauna doesn't have a physical presence already.
>It would look more like the "Forest Sense" that saplings possess would suddenly and inexplicably become silent.
>Second is good, it would make it even better if the developed Saplings that already exist also begin to rot away or become more feral because they require chuubanite to sustain their intellect and life-energy.
>Okay
>For 4 and 5, this cataclysm could have forced the tribes to unite fortifying the Elder Trees and turning the outer forest area into a perpetual defensive front that use the forest cover to rely heavily on ambush tactics
>This is okay
>This is okay
>Saplings weep in deafening silence as they hold out faith the Forest will return to them again someday.

This is done to avoid the "speed of plot" era that has been in effect for the existence of the thread from messing up the calculations.

This is mostly my own bias since 2 of my stories rely on the even not happening much more than a decade or two before the *modern* day.

Also, the birth of the thread feels like a far more "proper" start date.

I think for those specific events, it would be fine to place those events where they fit best on the timeline, without needing to stick to a rigid conversion. The order is more important than the actual dates. The issue with your set of date is that 20-30 years old is a bit too young for /vtwbg/, I think. Here is my suggestion; let's come up with a list of ordered events, as many as possible.
Then, let's assign them a date based on a rigid conversion.
And then, let's look at all the events and push their date back and forth depending on where they would fit best based on the existing lore.
This would give us the best freedom for making a timeline that makes sense, I think. And since moving forward we are using speed of plot, dates that use a logic placement instead of a rigid conversion will be the norm anyway.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/18-HH-xmC_qxOS3ZV0Ssxzb1mDA0xVKv31yMDLWo_pEo/edit?usp=sharing
I'm gonna start working on it. This sheet will let us add events and automatically sort and adjust their date. Feel free to comment on the sheet for suggestions of events to add, preferably with a corresponding post ID.

No question about it, they’re canon for Box Tenshi (Vox’s joke-turned-kinda-canon alter ego) so they’re canon for Kindreds looking to replicate Vox’s features too. I like the idea of some of the Holy Kingdom’s clergy seeking to have “biblically accurate” traits through shapeshifting like wings and multiple sets of eyes.

Let's see, that would be for the Edelweiss story, right? We should think about this for a bit actually. Keep in mind the Serene Republic is quite a ways from /rushia/, so economical and political consequences would be delayed a bit. If we say the Graduation "happening" occurred over about something like 10-15 years (with 2.5 VTE years per IRL day, that's a couple days), we could set the Rushia Graduation to 1109-1124 VTE and have your event occur during this period. Would that work?

It’s probably not what Lofi intended when she made her lore, but I feel that might actually fit her lore skills when used in an insidious way! (although one that might be necessary given the situation)
The Chuubanite rentry hasn’t covered something related to the mind so I don’t know if what she did is actually possible by its own, which is why I added some other details that can be used to justify what happens if it turns out the magic rock can’t actually do that

Oh, interesting topic!
So, for a start, psychoactive effects are quite common and have a lot of precedent in chuubanite applications, but for most of those cases, direct ingestion is required.
It's a somewhat controversial application, but in my opinion hypnosis through the use of chuubanite is plausible. Hypnosis only requires specific audio-visual inputs, which chuubanite is able to create. In this instance, lulling people to sleep through the use of a magically-enforced hypnotic resonant frequency seems plausible (The CIA tried shit like that a while back).
Another way would be for the chuubanite to have psychoactive effects, but only when activated in a certain way. For example, the assumption would be that the soldiers have ingested local chuubanite with the food and drink they found. Then, the frequencies created by the songstress resonates with the chuubanite so as to activate it and apply the psychoactive effects to the individuals.
The pure hypnosis method would be a lot more vulnerable to disruption in the focus of the target, to increased caution on the target's part, or to a particular willpower resulting in being more difficult to hypnotize.
The "song-activated psychoactive effect" method would be a lot more reliable and powerful, but requires chuubanite to have been applied to the target somehow.
I'm watching! What a cutie...

So sapling. I have the basic plans for what the story will be for us. Here it is

>Second time the tri fleet comes over but all 9 boats arrive on your shores
>We bring over one of our witches (first time one would leave the country)
>In exchange for your shamans gifting us magical artifacts/teaching us how to use your magic we would teach you in return the power of gemstones
>Risuners set up permanent outpost on the beach with ports. We would bring as many supplies as possible but might need to rely on some of your trees to chop.
>The witch (who i have yet to name) will be in charge of everything and you can either make a character or I can either it doesnt matter
>Hamdani (assuming you remember her) shows up again as second in command of everything. We do our business with the nearest saplings.
>Long ass trade route between /risu/ and /uuu/ where sapling artifacts are exchanged for whatever the fuck you want honestly.

Pic related. What do you think?

Indiamen had a steady trading route between the UK and, well, India. I don't think it's suicidal. The goods just need to be sufficiently valuable at destination for the trip to be worth it. Spices and drugs were often that product.

Unfortunately, I gotta throw some branches into your plan.
While shamans are more than willing to preach about the will of the forest (teaching how to connect with the magic of the land), the trinkets themselves I recall were more of a gift of gratitude for Hamdani's service rather than a material exchange there won't be any prospering artifact economy developing any time soon.
>And staying true to the lore, Shamans themselves would not be interested in the power of the gems by themselves because they've already dedicated all their devotion to what is already known and has been passed on which is their brand of forest magics.
However, there may be a way to make them recognize that power by first making the common sapling curious about their powers which isn't hard to do, and eventually becoming a more accepted form of magic.
>Permanent ports are okay because we basically do not use the coastline that much except for fishing and satisfying exploration curiosities but there may be a line to draw at the tree cutting except for special guidance and designation by saplings for which trees to cut or we may prove wood from SCUM saplings.
>I can make a character no problem that can act as a leader that interacts with the witch. Though I will have to develop lore surrounding the saplings that live in the Darkling Mire specifically. I had an image in mind for them that reflects when Fauna had her emo/goth phase.
>Sweets are an easy way to a sapling's heart and rucksack.

>>33214698
As saplings, we do not have an interest in actually caring about geopolitical affairs. We just like interacting with curious people and spreading the influence of the Forest. Saplings that share the border with /who/ and beyond are just as happy to see friendly Hoomans as they are Risuners.
Even if /who/ and /risu/ get into influence disputes, we'll just be minding our own business as each tribe is basically autonomous but all saplings share the same traditions and faith.

Oh, great additions, thank you for digging these up! This fills out the ancient history nicely.
Also, no idea, is it possible those threads were getting deleted by the mods around that time?

Imagine risuners face when their super high precious witch rolls up like "saplings I'm here to teach you our sacred magic we hide from the world" only to get a response "kek sorry senpai we already know how to do that shit". Holy fuck poor risuners. Not only that but the whole purpose of them being there and the saplings just tell them that it's not gonna be a common trade item. Fucking kek.

It's not so much that they already know how to do it, it's just more like they're not really that interested. I never heard OG mention that Hamdani showed Gem magic to the Shamans she was in contact with while she was initially there so I don't think Shamans or Druids would show any immediate interest in changing how they've been living from a life of devotion and faith to the forest to a life of mercantilism even if it is mutually beneficial on paper.

Just as a clarification btw, Shamans and Druids do not have any prior understanding of gem magics.

OG, something that might interest the saplings even more than your gem magic is fertilizer that uses your chuubanite. /uuu/ chuubanite probably boosts growth a little bit, but it's probably not as intense as your 3x growth rate increase.

According to the Risuner ethnics entry, the farming risuners and lanky risuners have some form of botany sensing. they could probably be the mediator between risuners and saplings

I think /uuu/'s chuubanite just makes the trees huge.
