Well I don't actually think they should be disallowed to collab with any demographic they may want to, the idea of a creator being forced to eternally pander to their audience seems unfair to the creator which I feel their happiness should come first.
But at the same time I can understand why some people might be upset with the change in programming after being used to a certain status quo for so long.
I guess there is no real solution to the matter, people are going to be upset, but the vtuber will be happy with their freedom.

I watch Kenmochi and 3D guys hanging out with 3D girls in streams and videos. The "off-brand anime" I watch includes multiple species and genders. But 2D collabs between anime girls and guys in Hololive is where the line is crossed, because Hololive has been all female for most of its existence (excluding Holostars). If the creator exists to exclusively serve their audience then how do they ever start? There's no audience at that point. Obviously the streamer is going to do what they want to do at times.
I'm not saying fans are worthless (that would be stupid) but when someone produces something they're not obligated to appeal to any particular group, in their fanbase or outside of it. It's just usually a stupid move to piss your the majority off because they won't keep watching.

If you're saying that a content creator has to find their niche (their core and most prospective audience) I don't really see what the problem is. Most people do that by doing things they want to do and they'll take input from their core fanbase as they see fit. Even if they secretly hate the content they make (why would you assume this) it still applies. After all it would only do you good to serve your loyal customers that care about you. That being said, everyone also has the right to change whatever they want about what they make any time, you can't stop them from doing that if that's their decision. The creator exists because they want to create-- they can abandon parts of their audience at any time.
It's not usually a smart decision to do that, especially if it's your entire audience (not even close to the case in this stupid scenario), but the blanket statement isn't really right.
