This probably isn't the right place for this type of post, but I desperately hope I can make it as a 'tuber just so I can change my current life situation.

I hate my current job with a passion. Management and administration are complete retards and every decision they make trickles down to make my life worse. The only good thing was that they were okay to let me do what I wanted since I was the most competent at my job, but they've become more strict lately because no one has any respect for them because they're retarded, so now I can't even do things my own (much more efficient) pace because every time I want to do something I see their fuckups reflected in what I have to work with/around.
However, I make a slightly higher wage than most entry-level jobs. Since I have no education and my only skills are relevant to this super niche business, it's basically impossible for me to find another job that'll earn me enough to pay my bills and loans. I can't survive off of welfare right now either. I can't afford going to school either because you don't get enough on student loans to be able to pay for living right now, so you need a job on the side as well, but I am incapable of doing both at the same time due to fatigue.

Everything right now makes me want to kms and end it all, but I don't want to make my dad suicide either because he would if I died. It's so hard to work on vtuber shit when I am constantly exhausted mentally and physically from work, but also the stress of depression and the pressure of life right now makes everything so much harder.

Do you guys think there's a market for a more family friendly / child oriented vtuber? I find myself thinking that vtubing would be a really good medium for, I don't know how to describe it .Like sesame street type content but for an older audience, late elementary to middle-grade.Definitely before high school level since I'd want to keep the content clean.
I foresee two main issues,
1) The way vtubing is economically structured means it would be highly unethical to enable any ability for actual children to give me money to support the channel
2) It's begging to be used by groomers to poach from the audience by hanging out in fan communities I really don't want to be responsible for creating an opportunity for pedo's and then having to police the spaces that facilitate those opportunities when I could just not do anything and just not create any problems in the first place.
3) It could create a gateway through which younger people who might not have looked into vtubers start doing so and became the same kind of degenerate I am, defeating the purpose of the whole idea.

I think there's actually some good that could be done with the medium to encourage young people to develop good thinking and living habits but it might not be worth the the associated risks.

Some people just aren't able to be happy, as in their brain just makes them miserable for no reason. Menhera Thursday I guess. I've always tried to put on a face like I've got it all together in front of my viewers but I'm seriously spiraling right now. On one hand I am spiraling in terms of physical health, which is fueling the mental spiral on the other. For me to get that big you would definitely have at least follow trends in some way to get to that point. I think most of the biggest youtubers have to do that to stay relevant. Okay, I was just ritual posting but I do actually use an SM58 replica. It's literally just a microphone that was laying around for maybe over a decade and it works great, it's a perfect replica of the SM58 which is considered the de-facto baseline of dynamic microphones. If you want to figure out if it's suitable for you just run some discovery on if dynamic microphones have qualities you wanna go with and if they'll fit your voice best.
I think it will be fine for your voice, you'll just have to learn some basic mic handling practice same as any other mic and you'll probably be fine.

That being said to the other anon, you can probably buy the SM58 mic or a good replica for pretty cheap secondhand. Dynamic mics are built like kinetic bombs and SM58s are both the most ubiquitous and have been in production for a long time now. Secondhand should work fine.

They sound the same. 'Crisper' I guess, but both mics boost in the high frequencies, even if in slightly different ways. (Not documented properly with the Q2U just so you know, but they do have a boosted high end so there might be some confusion there). Not sure what you meant by crisper exactly, but I'm pretty sure the SM58 still beats the Q2U on sibilant sounds and plosives without a filter noticeably. You wouldn't notice the difference behind an EQ and seven proxy filters though.

When people preference the Q2U and the SM58 it's split enough to say they probably are the same, with a preference for the SM58 which seems to be slightly more than random.

I would recommend the Q2U to anyone who wants a USB mic though or a cheap mic.

Alright, thank you anon. My issue with shure is that it is quite pricey in my 'literal who' country, which makes both shure and UMC22 cost a bit over 200 together, and I don't want to reach the 180-200+ window, so I thought I would buy Q2U and UMC22 together as I still want an XLR microphone.
I've been trying to find BEHRINGER XM 8500 here but it's not in stores, so finding something like Q2U was a miracle. I have been watching Podcastage reviews on the microphone and I found Q2U easier on my ear (at least). But of course, I am still paranoid if this mic will randomly break or actually turn out to be a long-time worthy (which shure seems to be good at), sigh.

Dynamic mics, in general, aren't very sensitive because of their design, but yes Shure does make microphones that I could probably use to beat your cute little skull in, (I heard concave is quite fetching these days darling~) and it would probably work after.

The Q2U shouldn't break though unless you really abuse it, because, again, the sturdiness of dynamics is also inherent to their design not just their manufacture.
Also, XLR is fine, but with the Q2U people find the Q2U USB connection to have a less harsh sound in the high-end and that it produces less noise than the XLR on the Q2U. Not sure why, thought it was an insulation issue to do with production, but seems to be normal across the Q2U mics.

I would say go for it. The Q2U is recommended for its price-quality for a reason.

while we're on the topic of mics. my biggest issue is that i have a big range, both in voice and volume. I'm soft spoken and quiet sometimes, loud and aggressive other times and/or anything in between. sometimes it switches mid stream. it's not something I can control unfortunately and might be due to my autism or so. my mic either doesn't pick me up or peak all the time and I'm not sure how to fix it. does anyone have a suggestion, i woudl appreciate it!

Ideally, we should be speaking into most microphones in a normal, if not strong, and clear voice, but not an elevated one.
